A cozy and atmospheric family country house designed and built by the owners with dedication and love, with additional help from their children and friends. Arnarstapi, is a small fishing village with a beautiful dock where local fishermen keep their boats. The house is situated only a short walk from the scenic cliff side near a beautiful national park with the majestic glacier Snæfellsjökull.

The space
The house was designed and built by the owner Einar. He is a master builder and has renovated many of the oldest houses in Reykjavik center. The house has been built with traditional methods and handcrafted details, which makes it look old style and gives a feeling like it has been there for a long time in spite of being new.

Guest access
The first floor is fully accessible to guests but the second floor is still under construction and therefore closed off.

Other things to note
The Snæfellsnes penninsula is home to many migrant birds and the house is situated close to Arctic Turn breeding grounds. It is possible to see a variety of other birds in the area, e.g. Eurasian oystercatcher, Common snipe, Black-tailed godwit and more.
