This is a place for relaxation, exploration, and innovation. Outside of the main home is a peaceful outdoor area complete with fire-pit, grill, hammocks and lounge chairs.
The space
Moon Camp is a truly one-of-a-kind, property. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a Joshua tree filled landscape for as far as the eye can see, the property is a perfect home base for a trip to the park or just as a place to decompress.
Moon camp consists of a dome house and a private outdoor space, with wooden reclining chairs, and a fire-pit. If you would like to use the fire-pit feel free to; however, there is a VERY HIGH RISK of wildfires. We ask that you please make sure to fully put out the fire with water when you are done with it for the night. We do not provide firewood so please come prepared! There is a Walmart 5-7 minutes down the road for firewood and anything else you may need. A newly constructed courtyard area equipped with two posh hammocks and lounge chairs face West for stunning sunset views.
•SURROUNDING AREA•
While Moon Camp may feel miles away (it is on a short stretch of groomed dirt road), it is conveniently close to most anything you might need. A Yucca Valley shopping center complete with Walmart, Home Depot, fast food restaurants, and other vendors is located just a 5 minute drive away. Additionally, you can hike or drive directly into the Covington Flats (an area of the national park), which is about 5 miles past Moon Camp up La Contenta Road.
Moon Camp is located within the town of Joshua Tree and is a 7 minute drive to Park Boulevard, where you can find local favorites like Joshua Tree Coffee Company and Natural Sisters Cafe. From Park Boulevard, you can drive just 5 minutes to the formal West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.
Additionally, if you plan to have dinner at Pappy & Harriet's (a 17 minute drive from Moon Camp), we strongly recommend making an advance reservation.

• King bed and two twin beds (daybed and loft)
• Full kitchen with highly efficient appliances, stocked utensils, cookware and prep tools (we do not have a microwave so please come prepared with food that does not need the use of one)
• Outdoor charcoal grill and grill tools (please note that we do not provide charcoal)
• Stocked towels, shampoo and conditioner, and hand soap
• Various books (many about off-grid living and cook books) and games in the main house
• Adjustable mini-split for A/C and heat, as well as a fireplace.
•EVENTS•
Unfortunately due to county restrictions and the limitations of off-grid systems, Moon Camp cannot be used as an event space.

Guest access
Guests have private access to the home, but please do note that another rental is on this property. There is a wood fence dividing the two but you may see a car pass by when the other guests enter and leave the rental next door.
Other things to note
Please note, due to our location we are unable to connect to public water. Instead we have water drlivered to the property and store it in holding tanks. Please be mindful of your water consumption during your stay. We kindly ask that you limit your shower time to 10 minutes per guest! Thanks so much!
This home is a unique rustic, glamping experience on steroids. If you are expecting the Ritz-Carlton this property may not be for you.
No photoshoots or video-shoots without prior approval. There is an additional location fee for shoots for profit of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, sponsored posts, both in kind and/or paid. A sponsored post is defined as a paid project by a brand offering monetary compensation or exchange of goods. A location consent form must be signed before shoots of any kind. Unauthorized publication of the property will be subject to legal action.
We are a dog friendly property for dogs up to 25 lbs (will consider larger dogs if they are a non-shedding hypoallergenic breed but still require a pet fee). We do require a **non-negotiable $45 per dog fee** to help us cover the cost of specific extra cleaning needed to ensure the safety of following guests who may suffer from animal related allergies.
Please do not climb/stand/or hang things on the Joshua Trees on the property. Although they may look quite sturdy, they do not have the same root systems as other trees and are quite fragile and old (they are actually large plants, not trees).
Please bring your own fire wood and/or charcoal if you plan to use the fire pit and/or BBQ
