Hello, our weekend in Parma at Giuseppe's place was wonderful! The flat is very nice, decorated with a lot of taste and the area quiet and very close to the historical center. Giuseppe was very helpful and he explained us all the details of life in Parma.
We had spent there a really good time! Joanna France
I stayed in this apartment with my family of 4, two children, in March 2014. The communication with the owner was fantastic and immediate. On my way to Parma, I ran late and he met me at the apartment without a problem.
The apartment is small and cozy. It is a kitchen, living room, foyer, master bedroom, and storage room. We were able to put the blow up mattress in the foyer for our youngest and our oldest slept on the pull out.
The apartment was clean and in a great location near the city center.
Real Parma atmosphere
Access to food was at my doorstep
Sewer smell from bathroom ( older plumbing in older city)
Bathroom access requires walking through master bedroom
Bed is quite firm
4 flights of stairs
I thought this was a great value and would recommend staying here.
Be cautious of driving in Parma. The main streets are part of a restricted driving program and you will be fined via the mail. Make sure you approach the apartment from the south to park.
Last week I spent 3 days at Il Balcone in Parma with 2 colleagues and we had a wonderful time. Giuseppe was a wonderful host and prepared the apartment for us beautifully. He took the time to show us on a map all the Parma sights and good places to eat. We felt very much at home in the flat... the beds were very comfortable and we slept better than we have in a long time. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting at the kitchen bar over a glass of wine in the evenings after spending a day in the churches and galleries, (email hidden) playing... ahhh, it was perfect! We would highly recommend Il Balcone to any travelers planning a trip to Parma.
Giuseppe is a great Host!.We had a very nice experience: very nice Apartment in a beautiful place. Thank you Giuseppe. We will come back for more days.
I had a great stay at Giuseppe's apartment! It was in a great location which made everything so easy to walk too!
The apartment was clean, cool and well appointed.
I will definitely try and book again on my next trip to Parma!
Oh, and thanks for the welcome bottle of wine Giuseppe!
From Matthew Henry: I had a great time staying Giuseppe’s place. I spent nearly two weeks there. The apartment was clean and neat, and nicely furnished with plenty of storage space and a nice selection of art. I especially liked the combination of old beams and new woodwork in the ceilings. Although there is no parking at the apartment, there are two municipal parking close by. The neighborhood is well stocked with restaurants and shopping, and the center of Parma is only minutes away. I travel frequently to Parma on business, and this is a nice alternative to a hotel. I will gladly stay there again.
I rented "Il balcone" for a week-end with two friends. The apartment was clean and in a great position. Giuseppe was very kind and helpful despite our late arrival in Parma!
This is the place!! Guiseppe was like a brother to me. He showed me around his apartment told me where the tourist attractions are, including a map. Guiseppe told me His favorite restaurants including others in the area and handed me the keys.
I left the place how I found it, Neat and Tidy.
La Filoma restaurant is the best food I have eaten in Italy,,, so far
Giuseppe's charming apt is in a perfect Parma location - just 5 minutes across the bridge from all the main Parma attractions. The neighbourhood is lively with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. However the apartment is very peaceful because it is at the back of the building, on the top floor . There's a lovely view from the bathroom of the rooftops of the city. There is no lift which may be a consideration for some people. Giuseppe is a very helpful host. He welcomed me with a bottle of wine and took the time to show me round. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the tv had lots of channels, the wifi worked well. I could walk to the Teatro Regio opera house in 5 minutes. And best of all, I felt I got an insight into the lives of the local Parma people. Highly recommended.
