This room is like an apartment studio with its own bathroom, kitchenette, and bedroom. There is a separate, private entrance/exit. Lots of closet space and cozy lighting! Good for folks who seek a quiet, cozy stay in the Greater Los Angeles area.

We are a 5 min drive from Cal State, Northridge in the historic San Fernando Valley. The nearest beach south of us would be Santa Monica, about 20 miles away (25 mins without traffic).

The space
Furniture: 1 comfortable queen's bed, two spacious closets, a big desk, a few chairs, a coffee table, a night table, a standing lamp and a night lamp.

Bathroom: standing shower, dresser with mirror

Appliances: sink, fridge, microwave, electric burner, toaster, coffee maker, water boiler

The space is adjacent to our kitchen (but completely closed off), so misc. noises (mostly cooking) *should be expected*, but we are not loud folks.

Guest access
Guests have their own bathroom/kitchen and also parking space on the street (free, spacious, and safe) next to our house.

Other things to note
The studio is adjacent to the main house's kitchen, so we may hear each other from time to time. We will keep the noise down (we are not loud anyways), and in turn we expect reasonable noise levels from our guest.

Our location is not close to downtown, so if that is important to your stay, then we would recommend either renting a car or seeking a different listing.

Neighborhood highlights

The San Fernando Valley is a great, historic part of Los Angeles: very diverse with cheap authentic eats and great nature areas. Our particular neighborhood is quiet, residential, and friendly. You can safely run/walk through the streets and we are right next to a hilly area if you want to get some more strenuous running exercise.

We are close by a public library and two shopping centers (including a Ralphs and a movie theatre) that are 5 min drive (or 25 min walk / 18 min by bus). To CSUN: We are a five min walk away from the 167 bus on Plummer St. that takes you straight to CSUN. There is also an In N Out that is a 20 min walk away from our house.

(Cool trivia: We are also right next to the hospital whose exterior they filmed for the show Grey's Anatomy. Another cool trivia: We are in the same Congressional district as Drake and the Kardashians.)
