We stayed for a long Thanksgiving weekend. Mike was extremely helpful before the visit, checking in to provide thorough information and to answer any and all questions.
The house is in a beautiful setting. It's nicely appointed and very comfortable with an open flow between the living room, kitchen, and dining area. The kitchen is well-equipped, can accommodate several cooks, and staples are provided. Guests' comfort has been well thought out, and the feeling is one of generosity.
We took one of the hikes that begins from the house--to Volcano Lake--and can highly recommend it.
Our only regrets: that it was too cold and rainy to use the giant barbecue grill, and that we couldn't stay a bit longer.
Would definitely come back to this lovely spot and fabulous cabin.
My friends and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Sierra Solitude. The name is accurate - a great feeling of seclusion in beautiful woods. The house is spacious, comfortable and tasteful. Mike was extremely responsive and helpful.
We had booked this originally for a party of 6 but ended up with only 4 of us so it felt like a lot of space! It is a large and welcoming house on a totally secluded lot; we could not see or hear anybody or anything else from the property. Really a beautiful spot.
Aside from the ideal setting, our favorite features were the excellent barbecue setup, the large and well appointed deck, and the breakfast/dining/gaming "nook" in the living room. Just perfect for a few friends spending a relaxing weekend in the Sierras.
Mike had a ton of really great recommendations, and the cabin was just a short drive from the Sierra Buttes, which proved a formidable but very rewarding hike.
An amazing tranquility.
One cannot expect for anything more.
Hidden in the woods away from everything best positioned as the home away from home.
Our party was 2 families with kids (party of 8 in total) space was great the house had everything we needed for cook ins and BBQ.
The local is amazing in every season (we stayed in may) close proximity to some amazing trails up in the Sierra.
Highly recommended. Hope to return again.
I'm a Californian. My wife is from London. I'm a craftsperson and artist and we like photography and pets and exploring and biological studies. No children. Long time vegans. I like the Mountains of California and enjoy having a home where I can be myself.
