Our backyard cottage is in a prime location, near Fair Park and within walking distance from trendy Greenville Ave. with fantastic local restaurants, bars, shops, and conveniences. Our little urban retreat feels like a secret garden, and it is perfect for a solo trip, a couple’s visit, a small family, or friends. Come and go at your convenience with a private entrance and dedicated parking. Enjoy a full kitchen, Hulu/Netflix, a queen bed and a fold-out sofa (full size).

The space
You can count on our private backyard cottage to be clean (we follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process), cozy, and to have what you need for a comfortable stay. It is located behind our main house and is a separate building. Inside, you will find a combined kitchen and living space, a bathroom with a standing shower, and a bedroom.

Amenities include WiFi, a television with access to Netflix and Hulu, a comfy queen bed, a full-size fold-out sofa bed with a memory foam topper, a desk/workspace, a coffee table that can be pulled up to be a table, a closet, and a full kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove and oven, Keurig coffee pot and coffee, tea kettle and tea, assorted cooking implements, and more).

We have a cute garden backyard with a couch and shade (not yet pictured) and fresh herbs through most of the year.

Both hosts are vaccinated and we are committed to maintaining a safe & clean environment for guests.

Guest access
Guests will have a dedicated space to park and will access the cottage’s private entrance through the locked side gate to the backyard.

You’re welcome to come and go as you please and enjoy the backyard. While we do sometimes sit in the yard with our small dog, we're always happy to give our guests privacy in the backyard if you prefer!

Other things to note
The cottage does not have central HVAC/Heating. We have very effective AC window units in the living area and in the bedroom. Heaters and extra blankets will be available year-round, in case you get chilly.

The path through the backyard is a little narrow, uneven in spots, and partially paved with flagstones. There are also several individual steps guests will need to be able to maneuver within the space.

The bathroom has a stand-up shower but no bathtub.

Our home is a safe space and we are welcoming to guests of all ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender expressions, and ages.

Neighborhood highlights

We are within walking distance of a grocery store, pharmacy, liquor store, and a ton of great restaurants, bars, and shops (most have great local flair and aren’t stupidly expensive). The bars nearby do generally close around midnight, but it’s a 5-10 minute Uber ride to Uptown or Deep Ellum for later nightlife, clubs, or concerts.

Overall, the neighborhood is diverse, vibrant, and fun, with a walkable, young, transitional feel.
