Cosy self contained studio for two near the centre of St Agnes. Own entrance, private garden space, ensuite shower & mini kitchen with combi microwave/oven. Super kingsize/twin beds so great for couples or sharers. Close to pubs restaurants & bakeries. 15 min walk to the nearest beach. Breakfast goodies include bread, cereal, marmalade, tea, coffee and plant/nut milk of your choice. Everything offered is vegan so take advantage of the treats offer, or just use the space as a base. All welcome.

The space
The studio is attached to our house but feels quite separate because of its own entrance and private little garden just behind it.

Guest access
Access is through our rear garden gate in Goonvrae Road, immediately on the left as you leave the mini roundabout on Penwinnick Road. It’s the first gate you come to and is accessible by six steps. There is a "Planted" sign on the wall by the gate.

Other things to note
You don't have to be vegan to stay here. We welcome everyone, and have so far had a wide range of guests. Some are not vegan and just use us as a base and eat out. Others make full use of the little kitchen and the free breakfast pack. Typical breakfast items included are bread/crumpets, cereal , jam, spread, tea coffee and oat/soya milk. Please let us know if there's a particular i.e. plant/nut milk that you'd prefer, or if you have any food allergies. There is a toaster, kettle, fridge and a combination/microwave oven. We do ask that you don’t bring any animal products into the studio :-)

St Agnes is VERY vegan friendly. There several places to eat in the village including pubs, bistros and takeaway pizza. There are two bakeries in the village that sell vegan pasties, cake and croissant. You can also pre order cakes from littlegreenveganbakery@gmail.com which is now based from Jocelines home in the village.

Churchtown fruit and veg is great for fresh produce, and also stocks a wide range of teas, nuts, pulses plant milks and chocolate! A new addition for 2020 is a chiller, stocking vegan items including Violife Epic cheese, Naturli butter and Veganaise.

The sorting office is a cool little coffee shop with lots of vegan options including cake, flapjacks and raw cakes. Q cafe and Genki are two great spots on the way to the beach for breakfasts and lunches.

The Saint Agnes Hotel, The Taphouse, The Peterville and The Driftwood Spars all offer vegan options.

The Cornish Pizza company are a stones throw away and have vegan pizzas and garlic bread to take away. Please order online www.thecornishpizzacompany.co.uk or phone 01872553092

Porthtowan is just a short drive away, or you can hop on the bus in high season. It has a stunning beach, and is home to Nature’s Treats. This is a vegan shop which sells everything from locally grown salad, cakes and pies to pottery, cards, eco refills and more! In the summer you’ll find food vans parked up next door selling street food. Please check their Facebook page for details. Moomaid of Zennor sells wicked sorbets including a dark chocolate one, and is just by the beach.

Truro is 8 miles away and you can drive or take the bus in. Here you will find the award winning Cornish Vegan Cafe. They serve burgers soups curries and cakes, they also have a wonderful little garden to sit in too!Archie Browns health food shop is open just opposite, (their cafe is currently closed). There are other places to eat such as colours cafe and the museum cafe. Ask pizza has a dedicated menu with three courses and vegan beers/wines, this is located close by to the cinema.

The studio has been sympathetically restored. We have pointed and rendered the walls with lime, and have used reclaimed boards on the floor. The original beams in the roof have been exposed. The water and underfloor heating is supplied via the solar panels in the roof, and our biomass (wood pellet) boiler. There is also an electric radiator in the studio and a heated towel rail in the shower room.

The garden to the rear of the studio is exclusively yours.

We don't have parking directly outside of the property, but free on street parking is available within a couple of minutes walk further along Goonvrae Road.

St Agnes, England, United Kingdom

Due to the Corona Virus some things have changed here, and continue to change day by day. All shops cafes and pubs are open and have their guidelines displayed to try to ensure we are all as safe as possible.

St Agnes still has a wonderful community feel and normally hosts events throughout the year, including our very own Giant Bolster weekend in April, Street fair in May, the carnival in August.

There are cafes and shops and four pubs, one of which has its own micro brewery. We have two grocery shops, two veg shops, two bakeries (vegan pasties, tea cakes and croissant available) The little green vegan bakery (now home based in the village) takes preorders of cakes etc...

The pubs and restaurants in the village are really embracing veganism and we now find ourselves spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out.

There are also several galleries, gift shops and a museum. There are weekly drop in yoga, art classes and a monthly film club.

St Ives, Falmouth and Penzance are all within an hour of St Agnes, and have vegan cafes/options aplenty.

I moved to Cornwall in 2006 and found myself in a house with no garden, but with a spare bedroom. The Yellow House veggie B&B was born and I found enjoyed hosting, so carried on until we moved to another house in the Village. In 2017 after turning our old kitchen and bathroom into a self contained studio, and going vegan, Planted was born! I still love hosting although it’s less hands on now as guests self cater. I love to travel, mostly within the uk and on short breaks. I always try to stay in Airbnb’s if I can as I love the personal touches and the invaluable local information from hosts.
