Our apartment is in an old, converted Victorian terrace house, surrounded by quiet walking streets, cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops, Saturday markets and a cosmopolitan neighbourhood. The city centre, Sydney harbour, Opera House, the NSW Art Gallery, Australian Museum, Rushcutter's Bay, Paddington and Surry Hills are all within a 5-20min walk away. Access to all areas of Sydney and beyond. Kings Cross train station is 5mins away, and access to the major bus routes to Sydney's beaches 2mins away.
YES, we provide bed linen, blankets and towels. It's hardly a holiday if you have to bring your own!

ABOUT THE LOCATION:
The apartment is in a great location, surrounded by pedestrian streets. Darlinghurst is now a sought-after suburb of Sydney, particluarly for young creatives and families, and is also popular with downsizers, offering walking distance to the city, Paddington, Surry Hills and Potts Point and great restaurants and nightlife, while being a short trip to beautiful surrounding parks and the beaches of Sydney. Womerah Avenue itself is considered one of (if not the best!) streets in Darlinghurst. Quiet and tree-lined, it is home to both a large number of young singles and couples, and a growing number of families who aren't willing to leave the convenience and spoils of the area behind for the suburbs!
We live in the area with our two and four year old children, as do a large number of other families. Womerah Ave and the Darlinghurst area has gentrified over the last 10 years, is one of the most creative and desirable areas of Sydney. The area is highly populated and, using common sense, we have never felt anything but safe in the area.
Parking on the street is time limited. Car rental locations are close by and GoGet car-share is easy and available close by. Locals walk everywhere or use the buses and trains - the location is central and this is easy. If you have a car let us know and we may be able to provide a space for you to park.
A number of "GoGet" car-share vehicles are located within a two minute walk of the apartment. Parking is free in "car-share" spaces and foreign licences are accepted. Prior to leaving home (to avoid delays in waiting for activation card to arrive in post) you can register using our address for the information pack and activation card. Search for GoGet Car Share Sydney. Look for the FAQ's.
Our apartment is up a flight of stairs, on the first floor of an old 1930's altered 1890's Victorian terrace with four apartments. The apartment is over two levels, with the main bedroom up an internal flight of stairs.
There is no bath.
Washing machines in a shared laundry accessed from the shared courtyard. There is a drying rack provided in case you want to hand wash or dry items inside.
This is a NO SMOKING BUILDING. Absolutely no smoking is allowed either inside the apartment or in the shared courtyard. This is important, and ignoring this rule will impact on your security deposit.

Interaction with Guests
We want you love the apartment and surrounding area as much as we do! It has everything you will need for a comfortable stay, and is professionally cleaned to a high standard between guests. We are only 5 minutes away to assist if necessary, but will leave you to enjoy your stay in privacy. We can provide flexible check in and check out times if possible, and can provide recommendations for great cafes, restaurants and bars in the area. For families with younger children we can assist with little extras like a baby bath, travel cot, cot linen and baby high-chair, just ask!
Other Things to Note
Please note there is a five night minimum booking over New Year's Eve
- No parties. We like and respect our neighbours and want to maintain the peaceful neighbourhood!
- Please leave the apartment as you found it
- Please be respectful of other residents in the building and neighbours and keep the noise down after about 10pm.
- If there are any problems during your stay, please let me know and we'll do our best to sort things out.
- Absolutely NO SMOKING in the apartment or building, including in the shared courtyard! This is important and ignoring this rule will affect your security deposit.
- No pets, sorry.
- We really appreciate it if you can leave the place reasonably clean on your departure. Please treat the place as if it were your own. Please wash dishes, etc and return to cupboards before you leave.
- Please contact us prior to departure to notify us of any spills, damage or breakages. If we are not notified, the guest will be held liable for them.
We had a great experience with Jodie's place @Darlinghurst. Very cozy place with 2 separate bed rooms & 2 restrooms. Super convenient to public transport. Jodie was personally there for check in and gave us a very detailed instructions which were really helpful, gave us maps, details ..etc. We had a great time. Price is comparable & I recommend this place. 2 thumbs up.
Hi Vivian, thanks again for choosing to stay with us. Our listing, and your stay, was indeed for our whole apartment/ flat, as detailed, and as shown in the photographs. I'm not sure what you mean by saying you only had access to a few rooms...?? There are four separate apartments/ flats in the converted (since the 1920's) Victorian terrace house, and our entry is located on the first floor. The fact access is via stairs is very clearly noted, as are details regarding facilities and each room setup. When making a reservation on airbnb it's important that you read the full listing, and look at the photographs. In our case, what you see and read on our listing is definitely what you get on arrival, so I'm not sure what you were expecting?
Please keep in mind that listings on airbnb are generally people's own homes, and understand that it is very disappointing as a host to have guests be rude and dismissive on arrival, having seemingly never read or looked at our listing. Fantastic accommodation for couples and families in the heart of Darlinghurst. Great host, well presented accommodation and excellent communication throughout. Jodie was happy to do that "little but extra" which made our stay all the more enjoyable... highly recommended.
Met us at apt. on our arrival from airport. Helped us get our cases in, then showed us around. Gave us local info. Left us some pastries, milk and other items which were much appreciated. The apt. was bigger than we had expected, in a quiet street.
The apartment is well equipped, Jodie is very nice and friendly and our stay at her apartment was more than perfect! Only 2 minutes walk to the bus station and 15 minutes drive in the city! Thank you for everything Jodie, also for your cake that waited for us in the apartment at our arrival!
A wonderful time spent in Sydney in this lovely spacious listing! The neighborhood is quaint and a comfortable walk to Potts Point and King Cross. I enjoyed how available the hostess was, she was very thorough with the introduction to the home.

My young family and I have lived in Darlinghurst for 7 years, love to travel and appreciate a great 'base camp' to explore from.
