Great location

Guests who stayed here in the past year loved the location.
The Orange Door is a very spacious fun, artsy, and colorful space of vibrant colors to stimulate and relax, a home away from home. There is a large and equipped kitchen in this unit. This is a great place for people who love good food and beer. A block away from many great restaurants, breweries, dispensaries, near freeway access, shopping, 2.5 miles to the UO and close to downtown.

Last door in a quiet 4-plex. Very private as there is our storage area between the closest apartment neighbor.

The space
Just 2.5 miles to the University of Oregon, a 10 minute car ride, and walking distance to a lot of breweries and restaurants nearby.

This is a large 1BR apartment, about 800 sq ft, equipped with a spacious kitchen and bathroom, dining table, desk, 3-seater couch, and loveseat. It is the end of unit of a quiet 4-plex in a cul-de-sac. Escape into a world of fun colors, a reflection of the fun vibe of the historical Whiteaker neighborhood.

The unit has a full kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, stove, refrigerator, teapots, rice cooker, blender, and enough implements to cook and bake meals.

A luggage rack is provided so that it will make unloading your suitcase easier on your back.

A 32-inch Roku enabled TV has recently been added for streaming your favorite shows. You need to login to your personal account, however, and do not forget to log out.

Great for people who need privacy, as this is in the last unit of a quiet 4-plex, with our storage garage between the closest apartment neighbor.

Guest access
Guests have use of the full apartment, and in the summer, patio chairs will be provided outside.

Other things to note
This is a NON-smoking unit, but smoking is allowed outside the premises. Pot is now legal in our state, but may not be smoked inside the house. We love our environment and hope that you will support our recycling efforts if possible, as well as, minimize carbon footprint with the utilities.

Please do not use wet or muddy shoes inside the unit, especially on carpet. Please DO NOT step on the bathroom mat with your shoes, it is for bare feet after a shower or bath.

The 3-seater couch can recline and is quite comfortable to sleep on. If you are 2 people who sleep separately and will require an extra set of sheets and blanket and pillow for the sofa, we do have an extra $15 laundry charge for linen.

The unit has a broom, dustpan, paper towels, garbage bags and cleaning spray in case you spill something. Cleaning between guests are done by professionals who are paid living wages. Our cleaning and laundry products are natural and environmentally safe. Your cleaning fee goes directly to them. In the event that the unit is needing further cleaning because it was left dirty or unkempt, or there are stains we need to further treat, we charge you the extra charge for their extra time.

Please do not rearrange furniture.

Our dining table is not for crafting projects. It’s main purpose is for eating. Please use hot pads/trivet/towel when setting hot plates on the table.
Please do not use wet or muddy shoes inside the house or step on carpets when your shoes are dirty.

If your unit has a TV, please do not forget to log out of your account if you used it to stream shows or another guest could make charges to your account.

Please note that makeup oftentimes doesn’t come out of towels or hair dye for that matter. Please bring makeup remover cloths or wipes. We charge for towels or linen that are deeply soiled as oftentimes, even bleach or enzymes will not remove stains. Extra labor for deep stain treatment will also be charged by our service person and you will be billed accordingly.

Should you forget items, we can ship them to you with a minimum charge of $25 handling for our service person plus cost of postage.

LONG TERM GUESTS: We do linen washing and change outs only after your stay at the unit. You are responsible for in between washings. There are many laundromats close by that we can help you locate if needed.

Neighborhood highlights

This is the Whit, as many locals will call it. Now one of the more historic and desirable neighborhoods because of all the breweries and restaurants around, this area is fast becoming gentrified. Moreover, we own 2 complexes in this dead end street so all neighbors are known to us. However, we will urge you to not leave your cars unlocked nor have valuables left inside.

The train sounds can sometimes be heard in the distance all throughout Eugene for some light sleepers, so please be aware.

The Green Door right across from your unit is also another 1BR unit of ours.

I'm a mother of 6, grandmother of 8, artist, writer, competitive barebow and horseback archer, photographer, and foodie. Now that our youngest is done with college, and hopefully covid under control, my husband and I will resume traveling a lot more to visit the grandkids. We speak several languages amongst us and enjoy visiting family and friends all over the world. My co-host, Christine Turk, will be taking over the management of our airbnbs and will be available to help you out like I would if I were around. It is our hope that your visit to Eugene will be a memorable and happy one!
