Experience local lifestyle and explore Thai countryside and waterfalls at only a mere 10 km from the heart of Chiang Rai's downtown area. Stay with me and relax in this lovely Thai chalet which is part of my cozy boutique home-stay with large, forest garden full of bird-life surrounded by rice-fields and foothills. It makes a great starting point to visit Chiang Rai's sightseeing spots which are all outside the city. The Black House Museum is at walking distance.

The space
The stilt chalet is built in traditional Northern Thai architectural style using reclaimed wood from old houses and offers 60 m2 of living space with a very spacious (bed)room, stylish bathroom, walk-in-closet & large private terrace.
As it is built on stilts you experience a view over the surrounding rice fields and foothills.
It accommodates 2 guests with a King size bed but we can add a quality mattress to sleep a third guest (extra charge).
If you would like to stay with a larger group, you can send us a message and inquire for availability as we another 6 rooms in a unique blend of modern, tropical style and traditional Thai wooden style buildings.

Guest access
In addition to your private terrace, you can enjoy 3 more (shared) covered terraces and my large (1 acre) lush tropical garden with 2 Thai pavilions, bustling with bird-life next to a creek with views at the foothills and nice sunsets. Throughout the premises you can enjoy free WiFi.

Other things to note
Breakfast is not included in the room rate but I do serve a tasteful breakfast with freshly brewed, home-roasted organic coffee or tea at a fair price. Just come over to the dining area between 7.30 and 10 AM. I can also offer home-cooked authentic Thai dinner on request.
The standard occupancy for the chalet is 2 guests. At an extra fee I can add a quality mattress for a third guest.
I offer free city bicycles to get around to the nearby Black House Museum, the village, market and convenience stores. If you want to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside further around with rice-fields, villages, restaurants, coffee shops and waterfalls you can rent tour bikes.

Neighborhood highlights

Yet close to the heart of the city (a 10 km or 20 minute drive), our location and surroundings are tranquil, green and full of bird life. We are located at the outskirts of a typical Thai village, only 800 meters from the highway. Directly from our location you'll find rice fields, rural roads, hiking trails and 2 scenic waterfalls at biking distance and also the famous Black House Museum (1 km). A local market and convenience stores, a 7 Eleven and a Tesco store are within walking or cycling distance ( 500 m - 1 km).
We are close to the vibrant area of a university with many shops, restaurants and markets.
Our place is an excellent base to explore the highlights of Chiang Rai province as most points of interest are north and south of the city: Doi Mae Salong (authentic Chinese settlement on a mountain ridge), tea & coffee plantations, hill-tribe villages, Burmese and Laotian border (towns), the impressive Mekong river bordering Laos, Doi Tung Royal gardens and many more...
You can self-explore by motorbike or we can offer you a private tour you will not forget!

Where I went to school: Chiang Rai
I am a Chiang Rai native and love to take care of people and help to explore my beautiful province. Over the years I created a boutique style home-stay. Indulge in a tranquil rural setting just outside the city center in a forest-style, tropical garden along side a creek with mountain view and great sunsets. I enjoy hosting and giving you a place to escape to. Come and go when you like, interact or stay quiet, and sleep when you feel like it.
