Come stay in our cute tiny house caboose in beautiful Joseph, Oregon. We've converted the caboose into a comfortable self-contained tiny house complete with kitchen, shower, and toilet. We can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults with one double bed and two bunk beds. Check us out on Instagram @thedepotjoseph!

The space
The Caboose is located behind an original Train Depot built in 1906 which used to be located in Enterprise, Oregon. It was moved in 1980 to its present location, one mile north of the town of Joseph, to serve as a residence, in which we now live. We are a mother-daughter(s) team with an interest in re-purposing, alternative building methods, and fun places to stay! We have been renovating and creating unique spaces for the past three years for our guests to enjoy while vacationing in this beautiful part of the country.
The caboose is completely self-contained with a small fridge, electric stove top burners, table and stools, a shower with rainfall shower head, linens and towels, cooking utensils, and an RV style toilet room. There is one main bedroom with a full size bed with a memory foam mattress. There are two twin bunk beds which are separated from the main bedroom with drapery. The bunk beds are higher than usual (see photos), so we have “bumper boards” available for younger guests.
It should be noted the caboose is a tiny house and the space is compact and, like many tiny houses, the caboose is run on an environmentally friendly grey-water system (meaning the used sink/shower water goes back into the ground in the form of a mulch basin). The RV toilet tank is pumped once a week-usually Monday or Tuesdays. Our location is one mile outside of town, located on the main road into Joseph making it very convenient to get around and basically impossible to get lost, but the road can also be very busy during the day so please pull in and out of the driveway with extra care. There is also a busy campground/RV park located to the south side of our property. We are somewhat rural in our location and have stunning views of the Wallowa Mountains and beautiful sunsets.

Guest access
In addition to the fully self-enclosed caboose, we welcome you to enjoy our shared outdoor areas. We have a large, garden/backyard area with picnic tables, BBQs, fire pits, hula hoops, yoga mats and various animals to pet (chickens, horses, sometimes a friend’s dog, and maybe this year a goat) !

Other things to note
We, unfortunately, cannot allow pets to stay. We do share outside space with other campers and ask that we all be respectful of one another.
Please note that we do not allow smoking indoors. Thanks !

Hi there and welcome to The Depot. We are Leita, Amy, and Autumn, and we are a mother-daughter(s) team who started our dream business of creating unique accommodations in one of our favorite locations in the whole world. We share an interest in re-purposing, alternative building methods, and fun places to stay! We have been renovating, creating, and renting these unique spaces for the past three years for our guests to enjoy while vacationing in this beautiful part of the country (Website hidden by Airbnb) Leita (the mom) has lived in the area for years and can definitely point you in the right direction for whatever you might need, Amy (sister #1) will be your host, checking you in, and your point of contact should you need anything during your stay, Autumn (sister #2) will be managing the airbnb account and bookings from afar as she's spending the summer in Alaska. We can't wait to host you and know you will absolutely fall in love with the area like we all did!
