Stonewall has been the Peach Capital of Texas for more than a century, and Klein Peach is named in its honor. Set on seven acres in the Hill Country, this cottage for two has a queen bed, shaded pecans, and a seasonal creek. It's minutes from roadside peach stands, LBJ's boyhood ranch, and more than 50 local wineries. The days are as sweet as the fruit and the stars are big and bright. A retreat with as much history as charm. Recommended by The Hill Country Bon Vivant. Refreshed May 2026.
The space
Step into the cozy embrace of Klein Peach Cottage, a tiny home lover's dream, boasting pure charm. Perfect for romantic getaways, it has witnessed countless marriage proposals. Take a leisurely stroll down to the creek, where you can feed the fish, or try your luck with a fishing pole in hand. As night falls, gather around the fire pit and marvel at the expansive Texas sky filled with bright stars.
THE COTTAGE - Refreshed May 2026.
Romance by name, big on charm — this tiny cottage is for two, named for the fruit that made Stonewall famous. Slip into a queen bed dressed in high-thread-count linens beneath blackout curtains that promise slow mornings, with a private bath and walk-in shower waiting just beyond. The kitchenette keeps things simple: Keurig, microwave, and a mini-fridge stocked with local "take one, leave one" beers, plus everything you need for a quiet breakfast at the bistro table for two. Stream a movie on the 32" smart TV or just let the quiet settle in. Sweet, warm, and exactly the right size.
INTERNET SERVICE
We run on underground fiber internet - an infrastructure decision not always available in the Hill Country. Guests get fast, reliable WiFi with the bandwidth for video calls, streaming and multiple devices at once, unaffected by Texas weather.
LAST STAND KITCHEN
Breakfast is part of every stay — prepared by Chef Jack of Last Stand Kitchen. A retired professional chef and restaurant owner, Jack most recently served as Executive Chef at Garrison Brothers Distillery in nearby Hye. He sets it in the kitchenette before you arrive. Slow mornings come with the cottage.
Heading to a winery, a hike at Enchanted Rock, a slow afternoon on the porch or working remotely from the cottage? A picnic lunch is a proper mid-day break - no cooking, no errand, just a meal ready in the fridge when you're ready to step away from the screen. Last Stand Kitchen packs picnic lunches on request — fried chicken, chicken salad, a Hill Country charcuterie board, or something custom Chef Jack builds for your day. Because Jack sources fresh and prepares everything by hand, picnics are made to order - subject to his weekly availability, with at least 7 days' notice before check-in. If you're closer to your arrival than that, send us a message anyway — we'll always do our best to put something together. Message us when you book.
OUTDOOR LIVING
The front porch is a quiet two-seater with a postcard view — lean back, share a glass, and let the Hill Country sunset do the rest. Beyond the porch, the shared common area calls you over: a hammock strung between the pecans, picnic tables under the sky, and a charcoal grill for relaxed dinners. When the sun drops, gather around the wood-burning fire pit and let the night unfold slowly. And then the sky takes over — above Fredericksburg, the Texas night goes deep and wide, with the Milky Way sometimes arcing across it like a secret meant just for you.
THE HILL COUNTRY
You're staying in the peach capital of Texas — wander the roadside stands and orchards in summer, or follow the wine trail year-round through Fredericksburg's celebrated vineyards and tasting rooms. A seasonal creek borders the property for morning walks or listen to the birdsongs and see how many species the Merlin app identifies. Hike the pink granite curves of Enchanted Rock, wander the wildflowers of LBJ State Park, or spend an afternoon on historic Main Street Fredericksburg, where every bakery, boutique, and patio seems made for slow days. Then come home, trade the day for a fire pit and a full sky, and fall asleep already planning tomorrow.
