Touch the stars from the patio and enjoy an outstanding and beautifully designed space. Expect beauty, wildlife, silence and unforgettable starlight. The house offers a private, scenic, unique getaway 12 mins from cute and quirky Joshua Tree town and 15 mins from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.

THE SPACE
The tranquil setting of this home provides the perfect ambiance for anyone looking to unwind or retreat. The eclectic, true vintage design and pops of carefully selected colour throughout, create an exciting contrast to serene views from the patios outside. There are original art in every room, and every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
This unique and comfortable home is located in a peaceful area with views and expanse rare even in Joshua Tree, yet only 12 minutes from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Recharge, connect and absorb the great expanse, the sunrise, moonrise, sunset and Milky Way visible amongst the canopy of stars, while enjoying the comfort this Mid-Century time-capsule has to offer.
The huge property is restored to it's original vintage glory with comfort and relaxation in mind. Helios House is built in 1958, in an area with no light pollution and deafening silence. It is fully equipped and fully self-contained. The house has WiFi, TV with Netflix, A/C, working wood burner, powerful cooling/heating and both shower and bath tub.
I loved this house from the first moment I set eyes on it. Now, I'd like to share it with you.
At night you can gaze up at a million twinkling stars that feel about an arms-length away from your own outdoor relaxation space with both south and east facing patios, outdoor lounge area, hammock, dining area and outdoor fire place.
You will witness wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners that make the desert their home, make a visit to Helios House all the more special.
We respect the environment. Helios House has a triple osmosis filter, so you can safely drink the tap water. No need to bring water in single use plastic bottles. I provide multi use water bottles and glass bottles with fresh water in the fridge to minimise single use plastic waste.
I provide high quality amenities like natural shampoo and conditioner in refill bottles for the same reason. Sheets are washed in natural detergents and air dried, and all the cleaning products are environmentally friendly. I supply yoga mats.

I would happily cater for you if you would like me to get flowers, gifts or special treats for celebrations. I can also help you plan your stay. This property is Plus verified by Airbnb. It means that it passed a 100 point, 3 hour long inspection for excellence in design, comfort and cleanliness. However, we chose to leave Plus, as the "Target Catalogue" way of presenting the property didn’t sit right with this unique, vintage property and the views outside the front door. You have access to the everything the main house has to offer: Open plan kitchen, dining area, lounge, study, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, 2 patios, ample parking and generous amenities.
Feel free to use the Grill. Gas provided.

NO PARTIES aside from small private birthday, anniversary or honeymoon celebrations. This must be communicated in advance. This is a serene property, and I like to keep it that way.
The house has a self contained STUDIO with it's own outdoor areas, parking, amenities and entrance in the back. This is rented separately, and laid out and insulated so that the guests will not notice each other. Common sense applies!
You can rent both spaces. Contact me if you are interested in this. The house will in such cases sleep 6 (8).
AMPLE PARKING on the property.
Any car drives fine out here. The last 2 mile stretch is on maintained dirt roads. This has never been a problem for any of my guests. Drive normally, and do not slow down too much on the dirt roads
For photo shoots / movies and anything else similar contact me first for permission, or you will be turned away. No exceptions.
Washing machine is for people who stay 4 nights or more.
Check in is at 3 or by appointment only. I recommend arriving before sunset.
An extra queen size comfortable blow up bed can be added to accommodate an additional person.
