Our peaceful sanctuary is a unique, clean & roomy space near the Goonie House, w/ 1 Queen & 2 single beds, perfect for solos, couples & sm. families. It has a micro, sink, frig, bath w/shower & gas fireplace. Please wear masks around me unless we are well apart outdoors, since I take immune suppressants. Check-in starts at 4pm, often earlier if you reach out on the morning of stay. Please no pets or strong scents due to allergies. No one under 9yrs. & an adult must always be present.

The space
Welcome to our safe refuge!

Come visit our little city and have a relaxing time in our private backyard hideaway-get-away cottage near the Columbia River. Our large one room guest house can easily accommodate up to 4 guests (3 beds). (Kids 9 and up please and must be accompanied by an adult at all times). *Please note!* Our nightly price INCLUDES local and county taxes (13%) and cleaning costs. Airbnb and state tax are added separately to your reservation.

Decorated in an inviting, artsy, eclectic vibe, this peaceful, open, airy space feels like a cabin in the woods, while still being close to town. It has light pine walls, high beam ceiling, a romantic free-standing gas flame fireplace, wood floors, many windows, including skylights, and a private enclosed roomy bathroom with shower.

There are 3 beds. One new Queen, 1 double foam topper twin, 1 orthopedic twin. A fourth bed which is a blow up mattress is available on request.

The cottage also has a microwave, sink and small frig. Along with an electric tea kettle, britta water filter, a few dishes, glasses, cups and utensils. But no stove/oven.

We have a large screen, smart TV with free antenna that provides about ten local station but also has access to the internet including Netfix and Amazon Prime. And there is a peekaboo view of the river and ocean!

Our cottage has several doors to the outside and a small deck overlooking our garden. There is also two large screened windows to provide a great cross breeze along with a ceiling fan, portable fan and small air conditioner that can help to circulate air if needed.

This space serves as our spare bedroom for our friends and family. And we often use it to enjoy watching TV in front of the fireplace.

Our yard serves as a sanctuary for semi-feral rescue cats and for that reason ( along with severe allergies ), we can not allow dogs in our cottage or yard, which needs to be crossed in order to enter the cottage. And fyi the cats aren't allowed in the cottage!

We also ask due to allergies you refrain from using strong scents during your visits.

We can check you in between 4-8pm. But early check-in is often available, so please connect with us early in the day of your visit with your preferred arrival time so we can plan our day around being home to let you in.
The cottage is within walking distance of several, restaurants, brew Pubs and historical sites. Including the infamous “Goonie House”. Two blocks from Riverwalk it’s an easy 20 minute walk to downtown or you can jump on the Old 300 Trolley and take the scenic ride all the way to West end of town.

Later check-in can sometimes be arranged, we do understand delays in traveling. But because we do not have "Self-Check-In" we ask that you arrive no later than 8pm.

And do come visit my special colorful art I create in my garage studio. My unique Sun. Disks and Wind Chimes are made from acrylic and permanent inks and each one-of-a-kind pieces are colorful, durable and very affordable!

We would not be hosting again if we didn’t think we could keep all of us safe through being fully vaccinated and following guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing. And since I take autoimmune suppressants for arthritis, affecting my ability to fight infections, we will be wearing masks and socially distance when greeting you.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in these matters.

We truly love this space and think you will too! See you soon!

Welcome to our little corner of the world! I am a visual and craft artist who has live in Astoria for many, many years with John. He and I love spending time in our backyard garden with our rescue cats and friends. We enjoy our life on the coast and plan to spend the rest of our lives here. And maybe if your lucky a kitty or two might pop out to say “Hello” !

During your stay

After we greet guests (masked of course!) on arrival we show you to the cottage through the our fenced backyard.

We will be happy to answer any questions to make your stay smooth for all of us, including restaurants and activity recommendations. We provide a few guides inside the cottage to help you navigate the space and town.
Be aware however, our town has gone through a lot of changes over the last year and it’s still in flux, please use the internet to check on current updates to local businesses in our area. Including the need for reservations and changing business hours.
If you find a place you really would like to go to, we recommend calling ahead to make sure website has been updated to current conditions.

We are usually home, but you might never see or hear us after you check-in because of the way the property is laid out. Or you just might find us in the garden relaxing with friends or working in my art studio garage.
