Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Previously a grain bin, this was recently converted into a livable cottage with electric. It includes outdoor seasonal shower, sleeping loft, water-less composting toilet, coffee maker and small mini-fridge in a partial kitchen with working sink (non potable well water), hide-a-bed, insulated walls and base-board heat, and also an AC unit, patio, small grill. Property includes 10 acres of woods, prairie, walking bridges and paths, garage, barn with chickens and coop, two other primitive cabins

The space
Property is very remote and rustic with few urban lights to pierce the darkness. Guest should be prepared for quiet and tranquility and bring extra flashlights. Guest should also be aware of some typical night time wildlife sounds and music they may hear, including frogs, coyotes, owls, hawks, raccoons, possums, crickets, mice, and possibly bobcat.

Guest access
The whole 10 acres

Other things to note
Please be aware of that you are in the country and woods and there is poison ivy and other irritants, including mosquitoes. Because of the chickens, absolutely NO pets allowed and that includes "well-behaved" dogs. This is a peaceful and tranquil place with the goal and purpose of maintaining habitat for viewing and watching only of wildlife and pollinators-- no hunting permitted and absolutely NO firearms whatsoever permitted, even if you are licensed to carry. The property contains many woods and leaf debris as well as wooden structures. The owner would prefer no smoking on the premises if possible, and absolutely NO smoking inside of any of the buildings and structures; extinguish and dispose of ALL cigarettes and tobacco products in an appropriate manner. Animals and wild critters will be curious and browse the premises at night, please keep all trash and refuse contained and, if possible, take all of your trash and refuse back home with you, please do not leave soiled feminine products in the trash bins. Please note that a flashlight is quite useful at night to have on hand at all times as the terrain in and around the cottage is not always level and smooth for walking. There is ample parking for one to three vehicles at the site. Due to the location, phone reception is limited and there is no internet available. There is a binder with directions for use of the toilet, sink, and shower in the cottage. There are active beehives also on the premises.

During your stay
I will meet guests, when possible, and give an introduction to the cabin and the property, or else direct them to the binder of information available in the grain bin. Also, my contact info is listed in the same binder in the grain bin itself, along with friends and family in case of emergency.
