We now include all rooms and meals taxes in our price, we have been successful enough that that is now required! We do not serve breakfast, coffee or tea as a standard guest service. This is a question of not entering into the food and beverage business, which will require other types of permits in future, and we would prefer to stay strictly with hosting guests. We are happy to provide our refrigerator for left overs and snacks. But unfortunately we cannot offer food or beverages to Airbnb guests except when you are joining us personally for a coffee or tea, which we are happy to do when the timing is right.
Guests have access to their room and a lovely sitting room with desk and internet on the ground floor.
Interaction with Guests
We love to have tea or coffee with our guests after they have had time to relax and get comfortable. We are happy to share information about the many wonderful options for activities, food and shopping in Burlington. We also love to talk about Burlington's history and about Vermont if our guests are interested. We have lived here 23 years and enjoy sharing stories about the State. It is a unique state with a very independent and fascinating history.
Our neighborhood is quiet, leafy, the ideal dream come true New England community, with many old Victorian homes, kids going to school right down the block and a 10-15 minute walk to our vibrant downtown, with music, great food, and shopping. The waterfront is just 15-20 mins walking with boating, a world renowned bike and walking path and fun restaurants.
Hablamos espanol bastante bien y nos gustaria recibir clientes de Espana y America Latina!
Other Things to Note
Owners are committed environmentalists. They use solar hot water for washing all laundry for their Airbnb guests and in summer they dry all of the linens and towels on an outdoor line. In winter, we have retrofitted the house with efficient appliances, and have done a great deal of insulating to keep the house comfortable and warm. We use a wood stove for supplementing our heat. We are very appreciative of guests who turn off lights when they are not using them.
Owners expect quiet after 10PM.
I stayed in Megan’s house for several weeks. I will always remember my stay in Burlington as very comfortable and pleasant. The location is perfect as it is only a few blocks from downtown and the University of Vermont. The neighborhood is lovely, with Victorian houses and many gardens to admire. The room is very comfortable, quiet, and nicely decorated and equipped. One feels very much at home. Megan and her husband are very warm, friendly people. They’re always thinking about the comfort of their guests so they have a positive and memorable experience. They have excellent visitor guides to share with their guests and they are happy to provide further guidance. They are people who love and care for their city and they want to share this with their guests.
Megan made me feel very welcome when I arrived: she greeted me and gave me a quick tour of my accommodations. In the room, she had set out brochures for various activities and local attractions that she thought might be of interest to me, and she told me about the highlights, which was very helpful. She also shared some of her thoughts about things that I might enjoy in the area. (Her recommendations were spot on, too!) Greg and Megan were both very friendly and thoughtful hosts, and I felt very welcome throughout my stay. I enjoyed chatting with both of them. They have two adorable cockapoos who are very friendly. I enjoyed getting to pet them, but Megan and Greg are very conscientious about the dog gates that keep them from your accommodations, in case you aren't interested in (or have an allergy to) dogs.
Everything was set up very nicely for my arrival. The room and bathroom were exactly as advertised, and they are both very nice. The bed is comfortable: it is nice and firm. The room is very sunny, and it was quite nice to catch up on work while sitting in the rocking chair. It was very thoughtful to have set out a plate and glass in the room, as well as a box of tissues.
They have a one page sheet with helpful information for your stay. It includes practical matters, such as information about your accommodations, as well as some further advice about local matters, such as suggestions about where to find a good breakfast in the area.
The neighborhood is also very nice. It was a very easy walk to Lake Champlain, downtown Burlington, and UVM. (Perhaps a 10-15 minute walk to downtown and another 5-10 or so to the Lake, and UVM is maybe a 15-20 minute walk in the other direction.) Very enjoyable walks with scenic views of the lake are accessible by foot from their home. There are also a lot of nice restaurants, bars, and entertainment that are a short walk from their home. (As I mentioned earlier, be sure to ask for recommendations!)
I enjoyed my stay very much. I had everything I needed, and my accommodations were very comfortable. I highly recommend staying with them, and I hope to return there, if I have another trip to Burlington in the future.
This was my first Airbnb stay and it couldn't have been better. The hosts' warmth and friendliness made me feel very comfortable in their beautiful home. The bedroom was very comfortable, nicely furnished and impeccably clean. The bathroom down the hall was spacious and bright. The location was perfect for me (an easy walk to town and to family I was visiting). I would be delighted to stay there again. Thank you, Megan and Greg!
My visit to Burlington was lovely. The room was cozy, warm and welcoming, as were the hosts. This was my first Airbnb and it will not be the last. Megan and Greg afford me privacy but were also open to conversation and gave good suggestions.
The house is perfectly set up for Airbnb with the guest room on the second floor a bit separated from the hosts. The location is close to downtown and a quick drive to UVM. Thanks for a lovely spring break!
Everything was as promised and Megan and Greg's beautiful Victorian home in Burlington. We very much enjoyed our stay. They were gracious hosts and provided us with great information about the area. The proximity to downtown, the lake and all of Burlington's amenities made it so we did not need a car until we wanted to head out of town. Everything you need is right there!
Our experience in the guest room at Megan and Greg's house was very comfortable and professional. We had all the luxuries and amenities of staying in a nice hotel with the additional benefits of two adorable dogs and access to the wealth of knowledge that Megan and Greg have amassed having spent 15 years in their neighborhood.
After having asked our interests in the area in her introductory email, Megan was prepared to offer wonderful advice that helped us maximize our time in Burlington. She recommended an off the beaten path place to get brunch, a great place to rent snowshoes, a beautiful local spot to go snowshoeing, and when we ran into some car trouble, her husband knew just the spot that could take us despite it being a holiday.
We really enjoyed our stay up in Burlington and would recommend Megan and Greg's beautiful room to anyone!
About the Host, Megan
I am an avid participant in the Airbnb community. I have become friends with my regular hosts in Boston and now enjoy hosting visitors in my home. We just had a wonderful stay with a host in New Orleans too. This is a wonderful community!
