We wanted a different NYC experience and we got it!! We enjoyed it so much, we'd love to come back again soon. Your apartment is wonderful. It's beautifully decorated and the views are truly amazing. We loved the location with having Whole Foods across the street. We really were able to enjoy the apartment as well as the location. Although the apartment only had one LARGE TV in the guest room, we just got into bed and relaxed and watched a movie. :) Not that we watched that much. When it snowed it was beautiful to relax in the apartment and watch it. We hope next time we can stay longer.
Your Houston Friends
Two colleagues and I were meeting up in NYC for a two day work session and needed a place we could both sleep and work. Johno's apartment was perfect! The location on the Upper West Side is a little far from the action of downtown and lower Manhattan hoods, but it was super convenient to be across the street from Whole Foods, and the subway is very close. The apartment itself is beautiful and very comfortable. The two bedroom set up is perfect for two couples or two individuals. In our situation, I slept on the couch which was comfortable enough but not ideal (it's not a convertible sofa bed). Johno as our host was very responsive and on top of making sure we knew what to do. Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend this AirBnb location and host!
We stayed in mid-October as a family of four.
Excellent apartment in a top location. Safe, clean, well equipped and all the comforts that you need when living away from home. Great views over Central Park and even the Empire State Building. Our two daughters loved having a mega-sized TV in their bedroom. Johno is an excellent host and is happy to oblige in answering any questions. He was always quick to respond.
For anyone who does not know NY (as in our case) the apartment is close to the subway on W96th which made exploring Downtown easy. Within a day we were Subway junkies. Buy a Metrocard and go-explore. Sunday in Central Park (two minutes walk from the apartment) taking in the Autumn sunshine was a great experience.
If you're not from the US then forget the museums and galleries and go experience the real Manhattan including Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Meatpacking District, ChinaTown, Little Italy and Times Square (just for the lights). The ESB is a must and the Top of the Rock at night was magical (go after 2100 to avoid the crowds). For a giggle go to Tiffany's and pretend you can afford anything .........don't worry the staff will soon suss out that you can't ! We spent time spotting the buildings and locations from any number of films that have featured NY.
Definitely recomend this apartment and Johno as a host and wouldn't hesitate in booking again.
Great apartment, great location, great host.
After a day's wandering around New York, it was so much better to come back to a home rather than a Hotel. Johno was so helpful throughout, definitely one of the best options in New York, did not disappoint.
We felt absolutely at home in this wonderfully designed apartment which is in an excellent condition.
Johno was a great host, he contacted us several times and made our arrival and departure smooth and easy. He was very responsive and helpful. The neighborhood is great, we enjoyed jogging in the Central park and there is a huge Whole Foods market opposite the apartment. We would love to come back!
This apartment was amazing. We had an absolutely wonderful time. It was all that was promised and more. Dan was very helpful and check-in was easy. We are looking forward to our next trip and stay at Johno's apartment. Thanks again for everything.
A fantastic, very comfortable apartment (functional, luminous, airy rooms with design furniture and all mod cons) in a luxury building located in an extremely pleasant part of town.
A wide choice of amenities, restaurants and shops (the Whole Foods supermarket is an attraction in its own right!). Very well connected by public transport (several metro lines) and only a short walk away from Central Park, the Museum of Natural Siences, the Dakota building, etc.
The owner, Johno, is incredibly friendly and helpful - we really felt at home!
Johno was an excellent host - welcoming and reassuring after a lengthy journey. We traveled long haul as a family and the convenience of a well appointed apartment was a huge benefit.
The apartment looked as amazing as it did in the images - with a fabulous view of Central Park from the lounge which changed beautifully as dusk fell nightly. An amazing Whole Foods across the street and an easy walk through Central Park to some great family friendly restaurants. children's playgrounds and a wealth of cabs immediately outside the very friendly building further enhanced our stay.
In a word - fabulous. We will hope to stay next time we come to NYC. Thank you Johno!
We stayed in Johno's apartment for a month and had a wonderful time. With two children (a toddler and a baby) the apartment turned out to be very practical. It is fully equiped and more, spacious and also very stylish with great views of the park and the city. The area is very child friendly with Central Park and several play grounds close by. There is also a children's play room in the building. Johno was a great host; always replied very promtly to any request we had, always very helpful! I would definately stay at Johno's again and I give him and the apartment my warmest recommendations.
