Private home on 40 acres surrounded by woods and wetlands on the Black River Rd. National Scenic Byway. It's a secluded place with lots of peace and quiet to be had. This is a perfect base for exploring the Northwoods with Copper Peak just 1 mile north, and 5 waterfalls on the 5 mile drive to Black River Harbor. It's a great place to get away and into Nature. There's a big yard with ample parking, playset and space for trailers. Trails in the back yard with a nice fire pit too!

The space
The house is modestly furnished, newly remodeled, and all essentials are there. Cookware, utensils, dishes, linens, towels, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, alarm clock, and a T.V. to use but no cable T.V. Free Wifi is also provided. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom with a newly remodeled private bathroom. Two single beds in another bedroom and two sets of bunk beds in the third bedroom. The second bathroom is off of the same hallway as the second and third bedrooms. The house was our home for many years, it is used and everything is not perfect, however new carpet, energy efficient furnace, and just remodeled master bathroom have been added in 2021.

Other things to note
There is not a better location for access to the area! We are 5 minutes from Copper Peak ski jump (which you can ride to the top of). There is great Mtn. biking at Copper Peak as well as at the Wolverine ski and bike trail which is about 10 minutes away. We are 10min from Lake Superior and the beautiful waterfalls of Black River Harbor, as well as numerous other waterfalls in the area that are too many to mention.

There is great fishing and a boat launch to access Lake Superior at Black River harbor. There is a suspension bridge over the river which leads out to a beautiful beach on Lake Superior.

The house is right across the street from the Black River with great fishing, paddling, or sometimes just a leisurely float on a hot day.

The house is close to the snowmobile/4wheeler trail (which is a road ride for 6.5 miles to the proper trail #2), that is connected to the rest of the UP and Northern Wisconsin. It is a great place to unload a trailer full of fun, and take advantage of the gravel pit next door, the nearby logging roads, the 100's of miles of State and County trail systems, or the trails cut through our 40 acres. An off road and snowmobile (we average 200 inches a year!) hot-spot, it is beyond compare and unequaled for a riding base camp.

It's 5 min from Big Powderhorn Mtn. ski area, and 15min to Indianhead/Blackjack ski areas. Whitecap Ski area is about 1/2 hour away and the Porcupine Mountains state park and ski area is about an hour away.

Downtown Ironwood/Hurley is about a 15 minute drive.

Pets ARE welcome, but there will be an additional $50 cleaning fee.

We have free Wifi. Cell service is intermittent depending on your carrier.

Neighborhood highlights

The Western end of the UP is an outdoor person's playground. If you can do it outside, you can do it around here. Cooper Peak Ski Flying Jump is just a mile north, as well as 5 waterfall hikes on your way to Black River Harbor, another 5 miles from there.
