The space
Our 1,200 sq. ft. cabin offers a refined high-desert sanctuary with a blend of rugged off-grid living and modern essentials. We are TRUE OFF-GRID, providing a unique opportunity to stay in a self-sustaining home that is not connected to the city electrical grid.

☀️ POWER & CLIMATE:
Reliable electricity is supplied by a clean, quiet solar energy system that captures power from the sun to provide for all your needs. While there is no A/C, the open floor plan and high-powered fans take full advantage of the excellent cross-ventilation provided by the canyon breezes.

🔌 Modern Connectivity:
Unlike traditional off-grid escapes, we feature high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi with download speeds typically between 50 Mbps and 200 Mbps. We also provide a 55-inch TCL Series 5 Smart TV featuring 4K HDR quality and pre-loaded streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu. Whether you're working remotely or streaming your favorite show, you’ll stay connected even in the heart of nature.

🏔️ The Experience:
The spacious interior is designed for comfort, perfect for relaxing after a day at Bryce or Zion. While the nearby highway offers easy access to the parks, the trade-off is total privacy from neighbors and front-row seats to local wildlife like deer, antelope, and various canyon birds.

Guest access
The front of our 15-acre property is gated, providing a secure and private feel for your stay. The cabin is tucked roughly 150 yards back from Hwy 89, giving you a front-row seat to the canyon while maintaining easy road access.

Access to the cabin is simple and secure via a manual lockbox located on the front door frame. You have full, private access to the entire cabin and the surrounding acreage. There are several miles of primitive, unmaintained trails directly accessible from the backyard. These trails are exclusive to our property—there is no pass-through traffic, so you can enjoy the "hidden paradise" of our rock hunting grounds and canyon views in total seclusion.

Please note that these trails feature rugged terrain, and exploration of the property is at your own risk.

Other things to note
🚙 ARRIVAL TIP:
We strongly recommend arriving for your first night before nightfall. Hwy 89 is very dark at night, and many guests find it difficult to spot the gated driveway entrance for the first time in the dark. Arriving in daylight makes your check-in much smoother!

🧭 LOCATION & CONNECTIVITY:
We are located in Rock Canyon, exactly 3 miles south of the Hwy 89 and Hwy 12 intersection. While we offer a peaceful "digital detox" atmosphere, we have recently upgraded to clean solar energy, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, and a Smart TV for your convenience. However, cell service can still be spotty in the canyon, so we recommend downloading your maps and check-in instructions before you arrive.

Neighborhood highlights

Hatch (4 miles South) and Panguitch (7 miles North) are the closet towns. Both offer great places to eat and some unique shopping stores. Some of our favorite places to eat in Panguitch are: C-Stop Pizza, Cowboys Smokehouse, and Kenny Ray's. In Hatch we recommend The Outlaw Saloon and the Sevier Café. Note many local businesses are closed on Sundays and many restaurants close before 8pm. Major retail stores like Walmart are located in Cedar City about 1 hour away.

Aloha! We’re Brant and Gen. Originally from Hawaii and now in Las Vegas, we’ve traded island breezes for high-desert red rocks. We created our off-grid canyon cabin as a "Base Camp" for adventure—a place to intentionally unplug and reconnect. Brant is a software programmer and Gen has a background in communications. When not working, we’re out mountain biking, gardening, crocheting, painting, or exploring the river and 15-acre sanctuary we’re so thrilled to share with you!
