Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Some info has been automatically translated.
Come stay among moss covered spruce woods in our village of tiny homes.

Bike three miles to picnic by the ocean, swim or to hike up the western mountains.

Take a short drive to Southwest fresh seafood and entertainment. Even enjoy avant-garde theater in a rustic barn by the sea.

The space
This home is built with bent maple poles in the style of an Iroquois Longhouse. There are large windows that let in the morning sun, space for storage, a wood stove perfect for winter stays and a cozy twin sized bed.

Our property is located on a dead end road, please make sure to drive all the way to the end and park. We also have a very strict 10 mph speed limit on our road. It is important for our future that guests do not go over that limit. Thank you in advance.

There is an outhouse in the woods for guests to use. The shower stall for Coyote's Den is shared with one other home. You will receive a solar shower bag which will heat in the sun during the summer months. In cool or cloudy weather you can add two kettles of hot water to the bag for a warm shower. We are working on a bathhouse for next year; in the meantime, if you prefer an indoor shower we recommend the Harbor House gym in Southwest Harbor.

Guest access
Wander our six acre forest on wood chip. Enjoy songbirds and the haunting sounds of owls, coyotes and loons from nearby Seal Cove Pond.

Other things to note
We suggest bringing a headlamp for night walks around the property or to the outhouse. We love and welcome dogs and cats and other pets but please make sure to clean up after them.

Please keep in mind, this stay is not for everyone. It is close to many things, but it is in itself 'off the grid'. This is not 'glamping', please be prepared for a rustic experience. The winter months can be difficult but rewarding. The home is heated only by wood and if the stove goes out, the home will be cold until the space has had time to heat back up. We are here to help with the stove if needed, but cannot maintain it throughout the visit. There is no refrigeration or electricity in the home.

Neighborhood highlights

Our tiny homes are sheltered in a quiet mossy woodland. Just 1-2 miles from our land is a lake with wonderful swimming and fishing and the trailhead up the western mountains of Acadia. Take a two and a half mile bike ride in the opposite direction and you'll find yourself at a beautiful picnic spot by the ocean, the perfect place to enjoy a lobster bake as you watch the sun set. If you want to buy a boiled lobster on the docks, go to Thurston's restaurant just 6 miles away!

Our property is located at the end of a private road. Children play in the road and animals are allowed free range. Please make sure to drive under 10 mph on our road through out your entire trip. We are very strict on this and if we receive a complaint about a vehicle driving too fast that guest will be asked to leave immediately with no refund. The future of our rentals depends of guests following this rule. Thank you so much.
