The Olive and Vine Farm Cottage, is situated between vineyards and olive trees, with amazing views of the Franschhoek mountains. The cottage is within walking distance (10min) of the world class restaurants on offer in the Franschhoek village plus the Wine Tram that will take you to all the well known wine farms that surround Franschhoek. Here you will have the benefit of enjoying the peace and tranquility which is part of farm life, but you are close enough to also enjoy what the town offers.

The space
The inside of the cottage is really spacious for 2 people and you have your own garden. The cottage is a home away from home. It is a very well equipped self catering accommodation. Then you also have the freedom of space that the farm provides.

Guest access
Guests have access to the cottage with their own enclosed outside area looking out over the vines and mountains . Please feel free to go for a wander on the farm or to have a lazy afternoon picnic by the small stream that runs through the property. That is when we get enough rain during the Winter season.

We harvest the vines during February and the olives during March and April, so please feel free to join us for some harvesting!

Other things to note
There are some friendly dogs on the farm, but they will not have access to your cottage or your garden area, as there is a gate that keeps them outside, except for Lucy. She knows her way in.

You will be able to enjoy all the freedom of farm life, while being in easy walking distance of town. You will have the benefit to enjoy the sounds of cattle and donkeys and birds, even fish eagles and owls. Next to our farm is a farm sanctuary. There are 2 cows, 2 donkeys, some chickens, and a goat or two. Not noisy. Lovely to hear the bray of the donkey's

My husband and I live on the farm La Terra de Luc. On the farm is olive trees and a vineyard. We pick the olives ourselves and take it to a local press. From there on I see to the labeling, botteling and marketing of the olive oil. I also preserve the olives and make my own tapenade. I love cooking and baking. Therefore my guests will always have homebaked rusks to enjoy. Our grapes are sold to local wine makers. We love the farm life and because we are so near town, we enjoy our walks to town and armed with a backpack, we do our shopping at the same time. I love being a host to my guests and I shall always try to do or give something extra to make them feel at home or just spoil them a bit.
