Bill and Janis are very nice people. We had a good stay with them.
Bill was very kind to get us tickets for Hearst Castle at a 10% discount.
Great hosts in Cambria, California! Wonderful hosts, wonderful breakfasts and THE most interesting couple! Cambria is a perfect home base for exploring Big Sur, San Simeon and Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, etc.
Dreydon House is also close to Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, which I hiked and explored for the first time. What a gorgeous bluff view of the rocky coastline and cormorants, pelicans and otters.
Back to our lovely host couple. We were so blown away by their warmth and vast knowledge about everything from W R Hearst to vineyards in Pas Robles...
Bill and Janis are gracious hosts, and they prepared two delicious breakfasts (we stayed two nights) that were tailored to our preferences. They were really helpful in orienting us to the area (great lunch suggestion, etc.) as they have lived there for a long time, and Bill had been a guide at the Hearst castle. The guest suite is a great value, and we had our own private entrance. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and it is very evident that they are well experienced with the B&B business. A bonus was that we had TV's in both bedrooms and access to a large DVD collection.
Thanks Bill and Janis!
very clean and cozy place! the hosts are very nice too!
It was very nice experience to stay with Bill and Janis. They even provided a menu for the breakfast so we can pick what we like for the next day. They also got us a better deal with the tickets for the castle. Their house is clean and well decorated. We'll definitely recommend to others.
Bill and Janis are great hosts. They were helpful letting us know were we could get food for dinner since we checked in a little later than planned.
They served breakfast for us and told some stories from Hearst Castle.
Also they can help book tickets for the castle.
Would stay again. Thanks for everything! :)
Our B&B hosts, Bill and Janis were extremely friendly and the accommodations were very clean and inviting. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their delicious breakfasts that they offered each morning of our stay with them. They were both very informative about the local attractions in the area, so we could make plans for day while we were there. We highly recommend staying with them, because they made you feel very welcomed and comfortable.
The Kirsteins were such friendly and accommodating hosts. The location was charming, breakfast was amazing, and they were incredibly helpful with local info and Hearst Castle tour bookings. Highly recommended!
Good value homestay with a laidback older couple of the central California coast. They offer a great and personalized breakfast each day to start off on the right foot, comfortable beds for the whole family, and lots of little perks (hot drinks in each bathroom, toiletries, local maps, tons of movies and a DVD and TV in each bedroom). One is always aware of being in a home rather than a hotel, which is what one seeks with a B&B. Both Bill and Janis are respectful of their guests' boundaries and ask for respect of theirs in return, and this is a harmonious balance which enables us to enjoy their lovely home and pick their brains about many things to do in Cambria and points north and south to everyone's satisfaction.
I had a great stay at Bill & Janis their home.
Bill's famous breakfast was indeed delicious and more than worth it!
Thanks for having me.
