The Kirsteins were such friendly and accommodating hosts. The location was charming, breakfast was amazing, and they were incredibly helpful with local info and Hearst Castle tour bookings. Highly recommended!
Good value homestay with a laidback older couple of the central California coast. They offer a great and personalized breakfast each day to start off on the right foot, comfortable beds for the whole family, and lots of little perks (hot drinks in each bathroom, toiletries, local maps, tons of movies and a DVD and TV in each bedroom). One is always aware of being in a home rather than a hotel, which is what one seeks with a B&B. Both Bill and Janis are respectful of their guests' boundaries and ask for respect of theirs in return, and this is a harmonious balance which enables us to enjoy their lovely home and pick their brains about many things to do in Cambria and points north and south to everyone's satisfaction.
Bill & Janis are very friendly and welcoming and Bill makes a delicious breakfast :)
I warmly recommend their BnB for anyone looking for a place along Highway 1 !
Enjoyed staying at Janis and Bill's B&B while visiting Hearst Castle. Delicious homemade breakfast. Clean and quiet rooms close to Highway 1 but far enough away to feel like you're off the beaten path. Highly recommended.
Bill and Janis are very friendly and uncomplicated hosts. We, a family of 4 adults, slept well surrounded by nature and had the luck to see the deers which Bill has posted. He served us an excellent breakfast.
A very nice place and a unique breakfast. The best pancake we ever had! We enjoyed to stay at Bill and Janis place and to have an interesting chat with them. They organized us tickets for Hearst Castle what we very much appreciated.
Bill and Janis are very lovely couple, their place are wonderful--clean and comfortable, and the house is like the dreamhouse in fairy tales. Bill and Janis made us great breakfast, and guided us to several ncie places at seaside. We really hope to visit them again!
Nice clean place to stay with friendly hosts, would recommend to others.
Bill & Janis were wonderful hosts to us. We arrived late and check-in was a breeze! Breakfast was so good and we get to choose the style of eggs we want! She has a lovely family and we could tell they are enjoying what they are doing as bnb hosts! I extremely love the soft cosy beddings and linens! Had a great sleep and chat with Janis & Bill before we head on to Hearst Castle which was just 10mins away!
Bill and Janis were wonderful hosts, we enjoyed our stay there so much! We felt very welcomed and the rooms were clean, comfy and cosy. The breakfast was incredibly good and we can just recommend this place for everyone! Thank you both so much.
