This 2-story 1920's era home offers the original Airbnb experience with a private room just for you. Off historic Midland Trail (U.S. Route 60), 3 miles to I-64/77, 15 miles to Downtown Charleston, 18 miles to Kanawha State Forrest 35 miles to Hawks Nest State Park, 46 miles to Summit Bechtel Reserve. Walk or run the paved elementary or high school tracks two blocks away. Five food options within one mile. **Check-in/out times are FIRM.

Guests enjoy the original Airbnb experience with a solid night's sleep on a full-sized bed in the upstairs bedroom. Local, digital over-the-air and ROKU television, and Wi-Fi, a selection of classic books, and local magazines to enjoy in the over-sized rocking chair are available no additional charge.

Complimentary items include home made soaps, along with traditional amenities such as shampoo, towels and wash cloths. Guests also enjoy use of a closet and dresser.

The downstairs bathroom features a 1918 cast-iron claw-foot tub with added shower, an early 1920's cast-iron sink, and classic black-and-white tiles.

Quiet hours will be observed from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. No additional guests are permitted. Smoking is not permitted in the house. Designated smoking areas outside are established.

Guest access

Guest have access to the first level, front porch, and the guest bedroom upstairs. Guest are not allowed in the basement. Use of the kitchen should be limited to non-alcoholic beverages and snack. Guest are not permitted to cook.

Interaction with guests

Interactions with guest will be frequent, but not intrusive. We live in the house, I run my business from the house. A light breakfast (breads, coffee/tea, juice, milk, cereals etc. - no cooking) will be offered in the dining room most days.

Other things to note

Within one mile of the residence is a Walmart, Tractor Supply, Shoney's, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Arby's, or SubWay sandwich (inside WalMart), all within one mile. To protect our two Boxers, and three house cats we do not accept guests with pets. Anyone with pet allergies should consider another location.

Known food allergens are kept in-house, these include but are not limited to nuts, fish, milks, eggs, gluten, and others. This is a two-story, 1920's era home and is not handicap accessible.

Robin's house is located in a serene neighborhood and convenient to downtown Charleston and Walmart. She is very friendly and gave us lots of info about the surrounding areas. We had great conversations too. The room, bathroom, breakfast and people (& dogs) were all fantastic:)

Robin went out of her way to make the stay at her place comfortable and pleasant. The bed is very comfortable the room is cozy and quiet, the wifi is strong and the delightful breakfast is a pleasant surprise. Robin is charming and friendly and was quick to respond before my arrival. It was a memorable stay indeed.

I loved staying at Robin's. She provided a true bed and breakfast experience, and has thoughtfully provided additional perks such as homemade soaps and a breakfast bar! I'm a history buff and it was a real treat to talk with Robin and learn about the Diamond community. A short drive from Charleston, I went to the city for dinner/live music but appreciated the tranquility provided by being just outside the city for sleeping.

Some hosts hover, and some can be hard to reach. Always considerate and intuitive, Robin strikes the perfect balance. Robin is interesting to visit with, and her house holds many antique pieces and knickknacks one is unlikely to have ever seen before. For the last half-mile to get there, urban dwellers might wonder if the directions/GPS are off. To them I say keep going, and you will find a great bargain.
