It was absolutely perfect. I don't think Mike could have done any better. His home is lovely, with so much care and excellent taste. The garden is magical. It took no more than 15 minutes to get to any one of our touristy destinations. If you like architecture or gardens this is a perfect stay. I wish we could have stayed longer, will definitely be back!
Our fourth visit to Mike's place...and once again...perfection achieved! Mike's place is the most comfortable, beautiful, serene and impeccably clean place to stay! The location is also perfection - with great restaurants and Whole Foods within walking distance. We are grateful for Mike's hospitality, thoughtfulness and kindness and can't wait to come back.
This property is a dream. The location is geeat! My husband and I were so comfortable we could have stayed there forever. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting San Diego. The property itself is worth the trip. Thanks Mike for a great stay!
Mike's place was our first experience of using airbnb and it was a fantastic introduction to travelling in this way. Mike was a friendly and approachable host and the cottage was beautifully decorated. Mike's attention to detail was fab, with cold soda waiting in the fridge and the Aveada toiletries a lovely touch. Staying in this beautiful cottage made visiting San Diego even more special for us. Thank you Mike!
The pictures you see, even fully true, are not able to describe the beautiful atmosphere Mike's cottage has. It is truly a jewel, perfectly located to explore Hilcrest and the rest of the city.
Mike himself is a very open, approachable and heartwarming person. He is there to help if you need it and gives you the space you want to have. This was the 1st time we came to San Diego but if there will be a 2nd one we would not find a better place to stay. Thank you Mike for making our stay so special. Aufwiedersehen :)
Vielen Dank nochmals.
About the Host, Mike
I am a painter and an art instructor and have worked in the field for thirty years. I have lived in this residence for 26 years and have applied all of my skills and interest to restoring this house to its historic roots. I was delighted when my zero-scape garden won the neighborhood award and was mentioned in a "Sunset Magazine" walking tour of the area. I spend most of my time painting in the art studio and therefore, enjoys the opportunity to meet people from other places.
