*Sorry, NO pets, NO smoking allowed.*

We are located in a rural area in the Southern portion of the Adirondack Park. A short drive to Utica and in a good location if you choose to go deeper into the park for day excursions.

The closest grocery store (Desantis market) is about a 20 minute drive in the Town of Barnevald via Rt. 365. There are restaurants/pubs in town (Haskell's Inn and The Ohio Tavern), however it is a good idea to plan ahead and bring groceries and food with you that you will need during your stay.

FISHING: since we are located right on the West Canada Creek, we are in an ideal spot for trout fishing when the river is stocked in late Spring. There are many other nearby fishing spots we would also be happy to recommend.

KAYAKING: there are plenty of great spots to check out in the area for kayaking and canoeing. Let us know if you need recommendations.

HIKING: If you are looking for hikes, plan ahead to do a day trip to your destination (Panther mountain, bald mountain, Pixley Falls, ect). These are not too far of a drive and you can plan a fun day around your hike depending on the location. (For your safety, please be sure to take the proper precautions for any kind of hike you take.)

SNOWMOBILING: The lazy lodge is a great location for snowmobilers as we are situated close to the intersections of Herkimer County Snowmobile Trails C4, C4H, C4B. Check the Ohio Ridge Riders website for up to date conditions of trails and trail maps of the area.
If you are looking to book for the upcoming winter, we are in a great location! We live locally, so we will always be here to plow the driveway and to have the walkways shoveled so you can get in and out without a problem.

HUNTING: The Lazy Lodge is also an ideal place for avid hunters. Please contact us if you need any information about hunting in the area. There is a lot of State Land surrounding the Lazy Lodge that is legal to hunt.

There are many other great activities in the area. With a little planning, we think you will really enjoy your stay at the Lazy Lodge. Please be sure to let us know how we can help you!

In the Spring or Summer, you can go fishing or tubing along the West Canada Creek, enjoy swimming or water sports at Hinckley State Park. If you are up for a day trip, check out other attractions such as the Baseball Hall of Fame or Howe caverns in Cooperstown NY (just 60 mins away). Check out the Town of Morehouse Rod and Gun Club Annual kids fishing derby just a short drive away, or book your stay for the town of Ohio's annual Snow Bash! For hiking, its a good plan to head out early for a day trip to some trails in nearby towns (Old Forge, Booneville, Speculator).

Local amenities include the Ohio Tavern (2 miles), Haskell's Inn (a short stagger from the Lodge), as well as the Northway Stop 'n' Shop (about a 15 min. drive via 365) where you can purchase NYS fishing licenses, bait, and gas. For food shopping, there is DeSantis market in Barneveld (20 min via route 365).
