Park open! Retreat to the charming village of Three Rivers at the entrance to Sequoia National Park and enjoy the trails and beauty of this National treasure. This listing is for a large and beautiful artist’s studio with a dedicated and independent heating system on several acres with its own entrance and terraces. Extraordinary care is being taken to assure as safe an environment as possible for our guests, & we rarely see our guests except to introduce them to our property from a distance.

The space
Our fully booked Three Rivers property now has openings… …; ) and Sequoia National Park is open for visitors!!

Rest assured we are on a hyper-vigilante quest to keep our guests and ourselves safe during these extraordinary times, and stringent cleaning standards here at the DaVidgil House are heightened and we feel there is no safer place to be than in nature and among the majestic trees and unparalleled beauty of the environs of Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon.

Expect a beautiful and solitary time, (always lots of privacy), it’s stunning and quiet; and all restaurants in town are re-opening following special guidelines.. (As of mid December for pick up)

Thank you so much for your interest and know that we would love to have you and look forward to sharing the Sequoia National Park and our new home with you! It's a lovely space and we've never seen anyone who wasn't thoroughly delighted. The studio comprises the entire bottom floor of our property with its own entrance off the terraces facing the grounds and the river. It's beautifully situated in an open and stylish space that feels expansive and interesting. With beautiful light and everything you need this studio with gorgeous walkways and private entrance will provide a haven for your stay. Walk over to the river and use this home as a sanctuary to the Sequoia National Park and the delightful town of Three Rivers, California. The summer sleeping deck is optional and would be an additional price per night of your stay and depends on weather restrictions. The studio is an amazing combination of both rustic and plush...all wrapped up in one.

Guest access
You have everything you need for a comfortable stay in this spacious (600 sq ft) studio including a King size organic, springless mattress, park like surroundings, amazing views from every window, private outdoor eating space, a wood-burning stove, indoor dining table, a large screen TV and entertainment center, your own kitchenette, kettle, two burner stove-top, and small fridge, etc. Please be our guests and enjoy it to the fullest. Only nice people need apply... and we will do our best to provide a beautiful stay for you! ; )

Honeymoon touches upon request with additional charge. Gorgeous flowers, special bedding, fine champagne....just let us know. Consider a small reception upstairs for your engagement party and /or wedding.

* The optional sleeping platform ($100 per night of reservation) with mosquito netting is only available at certain times, would depend on weather and availability. Feel free to wander the property, you are always welcome. ; ).

Other things to note
This studio with its private entrance is situated on about five acres and one of the Forks of the Kaweah River; go this direction to Lady Bug Trail, and although our river is stunning, it can go from a spring roar to a gentle babble depending on weather. In late summer we recommend several amazing swimming holes, often nearly private for our adventurous and fit guests, and include several in our listing photos . LadyBug also has amazing winter and spring roaring rivers, gorgeous spring flowers and lady bugs.

Three Rivers, California, United States

RESTAURANTS, ETC Three Rivers is a charming village of 2600 people with an artsy vibe, (check out Cort Gallery, and their Sunday night drum circle), although the National Park is the biggest draw and offers days of exploration. Coming to Sequoia National Park you will not help but become acquainted with its charm. Our property is perfectly situated, about ten - fifteen minutes from the Park entrance and its best late summer only swimming holes, and even closer (2 miles) to the only full service market (The Village Market and their weekend barbecues; perfect to take home or into the park; they close at 7 PM & 8 PM on the weekends) and two miles to the best part of the village on the river, the restaurant "Ol' Buckaroo", (Closed Tuesday and Wednesday - Open for brunch only on the weekends - and Mondays sometimes-otherwise good for dinner every other night at least when I wrote this) and coffee shop "Sequoia Coffee", also a great little antique store, the new Brewery, and the heart of Three Rivers. Right here you will also find a great sub and salad place with a 93 rating on yelp, Sierra Sub and Salad (closed 6pm and on Monday’s). For organic items there's a small store called "The Barn" with great gift items, and yoga and cycling in the same structure too, super close to us, that is wonderful. There’s also Bella Farms for self-service organics super close to us on North Fork. There is the "Gateway" for amazing wine, stunning river views, live music (sometimes, call ahead) on some weekends and aiming at rather elegant food and full bar including premium tequila. (There is a drugstore, a pizza place, and a Mexican place called Mendosa’s as well within 2 minutes of our place, and Reimers, the best ice cream on the planet a bit closer to the park, in season fresh Three Rivers blackberry! And peach!) Super casual and also on the river there is the River View, for a game of pool, a drink, friendly patrons, and sometimes the best live music for hundreds of miles, (call ahead). For longer stays consider a jaunt into Exeter for dinner at the French Wine Bistro called "Monet". Worth the drive for Jennifer’s food and hospitality (and or stop on your way into Three Rivers if the timing is right- 5pm opening ) and also visit the fabulous antique shops there as well. (about 25 minutes from 3R on your way into Three Rivers). Check Yelp for great places too in Visalia if you’re Jonesing for really yummy food - Jack and Charlie’s - the Vintage Press -
two of my faves.

My husband and I are fast approaching retirement and are blessed to have recently acquired a home in beautiful Three Rivers, California at the entrance to the Sequoia National Park, with retirement in mind. We love sharing it for now with kind visitors with its unique architectural repurposed art project feel and hope you can stop by on your way through California! We have lived in Santa Monica for several decades and certainly consider it home as my parents met on Wilshire Blvd in the 1940's and played on the pier and the beaches here early in their marriage. Eric is an East Coast transplant and other than Sequoia isn't heading east again any time soon. Santa Monica is a lovely place to live, close by the sea and a cooler place to live in the summer than our inland neighbors. Our property is a few short blocks from downtown Santa Monica; close to several great health food stores, the Co-op and Whole Foods, Tiffany's (!) and Santa Monica place, yoga studios, restaurants, markets, the library and great coffee shops. The new metro is a ten minute or less walk from where we are which is super cool and over all it's a place one can find happiness and tranquility. Walking, bike riding, rollerblading; all options for getting around and all in an area that has so much to offer so close by! A designer at heart, we've loved creating a beautiful place for guests. Santa Monica is both a small town and a major worldwide destination: truly remnants of the past at an intersection with major change. Cannot live without aesthetics, modern technology and ideals, (shared economy understanding) the Golden Rule, and flowers!! Inspired by our travels to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and Europe, we created our beautiful garden to reflect a place of beauty and peace and are excited to share it with travelers. While I handle our guests, my husband is the construction and technical brain in the nuts and bolts department. Looking forward to meeting new people through this rental process!!!!! Godspeed on your journey!!!! xoox

Either my husband or I will be available in person or on the phone. We also have a nearby cabin we often go to and places in Santa Monica as well that we rent; be sure to ask if you are going that way!
