Other Things to Note
It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and bring a light jacket or a windbreaker. It tends to get chilly after sunset. Cobblestone traditional paths and steps in all villages, high heels might damage your feet. All clean linen and towels are provided! As well as local "Nychteri" welcome wine, water, orange juice and filter coffee.
• Water is precious, there are no natural springs on this island. Tap WATER is desalination water from sea water. It cannot cause you any infection but it contains too much salt. It is advised to drink bottled mineral water.
• Santorini has a delicate sewage system, please do not flush any toilet paper or rubbish, use the special bin provided. Waste bin is just next to the toilet, It may sound odd but last year a guest flushed underwear and expect it to miraculously disappear! Naturally it created a blockage that took two days to fix! Help us keep the sewage system running!
• For HOT water please pull up the ‘BOILER’ levier [RED light ON], wait for max 20 min then turn it OFF & you are ready to take a hot shower!
• SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED INDOORS.
• Towels and sheets are to be used only in your studio. Please do not take them to the beach. It requires double the amount of energy and washing powder to clean them of the salt water and sand.
From Jun 15 - Aug 3, 2015 the minimum stay is 1 night.
Our experience in the 'Gravitate' Sensyo Home was wonderful. The house and terrace were as described, and very clean and comfy. The surrounding area was beautiful, and there was easy access to everything else on the island. Elvira was very welcoming: she met us off our transfer bus and talked to us all about the island. She was around almost every day and contactable when needed if we didn't see her. She even brought us fresh fruit one morning! All-in-all, a very pleasurable experience. Great host, lovely house, and stunning view in a really beautiful area of Santorini. We had a prime location to watch the world-famous sunsets every night!
We had an excellent stay at Sensyo. The location was absolutely perfect and the view of sunset was stunning. Elvira was a very helpful host. The rooms were small and you needed to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom but that's part of the experience of sleeping in a cave house. Recommended for a Santorini visit!
Elvira was a gracious host to our group of four during our short stay in Santorini. The cave was furnished very comfortably and the home looks out over the caldera with an amazing view. It was a big plus getting to stay in Therastefani as it is quieter than Thera but is still centrally located and has many great restaurants nearby. Elvira was very helpful and communicative in letting us know about how to get around the island and which sights to see. I think our only con of staying at Sensyo was that we had to share the front yard with other couples who are staying next door in other Sensyo rentals.
Thank you so much for staying with us you where amazing guests! Please note that in "Guest Access" we specifically describe that the big terrace is shared. Terrace of Sensyo Home is 100m2 big and hosts max 8people, half from "Gravitate" studio where you stayed, only "Soundscape" cave suite, the upper part of Sensyo Home has private terrace and accommodates max 3ppl. Thank you & have a wonderful summertime!
Elvira's lovely cave house is a cosy place to stay in, and is located at a convenient location close to Fira (around 10 minutes) and the bus terminal where you can take the local buses to travel around Santorini. The apartment is as advertised on the site. The communication is clear and Elvira is really quick in responding to queries. She also helped me in booking the cabs from the port to her place and to the airport upon departure which is greatly appreciated. I will definitely recommend this cave house to anyone wishing to stay in Santorini.
Elvira was very responsive and helpful in arranging porters for luggage etc. when we arrived. Truth in advertising with regard to the house, location, facilities, etc. Location is exceptional and very nice views.
Our stay at the Gravitate was amazing. It is in the village of Firoestefani which is a 10 minute walk to the capital Fira and 3 hour walk to Oia. The apartment is clean, warm, and homie with an amazing view right along the Caldera. We did meet Elvira and she was incredibly sweet and friendly. It is ideal location as well and close to our favorite cafe that had great coffees, desserts, and ice creams. We stopped there at least twice a day. There were also a couple of good restaurants nearby. Walking to Fira during the day and at night was a lot of fun. We only stayed at the Gravitate the first half of our trip and the second part we moved to a hotel in Megalochori, but our whole family agreed we loved Gravitate much better and missed it a lot. Firostefani was our favorite village in Santorini.
We loved our stay at gravitate! The location was perfect and right in the center of all the action. Elvira was so friendly and helpful during our stay. She went out of her way numerous times to help us with transportation and give us any info we needed. Not to mention the view is just as advertised! Breathtaking! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

About the Host, Elvira In Sensyo Home
I am a graphic designer most of my life among other creative paths.
Sensyo Home is a big part of my life that I want to share. It helped me "change" path in my life and I wish to share that! My dream is to become an inspirational destination. All this natural beauty around, helps everyone relax, focus and express themselves.
I was working from Sensyo home the first 3 years and comparing my creativity to when I lived in the big city of Athens, where I lived and worked until 2008, I was multiple times productive and efficient!
I am blessed to live in such a beautiful place. Living in a traditional cave home is an experience. I have stayed in all 4 studios the past 7 years and I do have many stories to tell about the "cave" effect & the rejuvenating sleep one has in a cave!
Sensyo Home name came from the word senses…
Each studio has a unique identity that reflects onto one particular sense:
"Envision" the eye - window to caldera
"Cocoon" the touch - round like a big hag
"Soundscape" the ear - waking up to chirping birds
"Gravitate" for the sense we take for granted - sleep so heavily you think parts of you are falling off
The "round" shapes and the fact that you are underground automatically put you in another scenery. You feel protected by the intense sun, wind or cold the moment you step into the cave.
The scenery here helps you focus and has intense energy. Most visitors simply fall in love with it and want to come again and again. Let alone the history of the island going back 36 hundrend years!
Sharing is powerful, we are blessed to live on this beautiful island and blessed to have all this love from travellers across the continent.
You and your loved ones are more than welcome to share!
