About this listing

The space

We have 2 beautiful rural cottages located in Normandy. They are next to each other , and could be rented together to accomodate larger parties. This listing is for cottage 1.

During August we only take full week bookings.

The cottage has a large combined kitchen, dining and lounge area, with a gorgeous wood burning stove, and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher,. The cottage has 1 double bedroom, one family room with double bed and 2 singles. There is a small shower room with toilet. The courtyard room contains a washing machine, toilet and shower. The cottage benefits from a beautiful large garden, with bbq equipment, and is excellent for relaxing and eating in on those warm summer nights! There is parking at front of house.

Normandy really is the perfect place to visit as you have a great choice between seaside and countryside. The seaside boasts stunning coast lines with beautiful cliffs and long sandy beaches, while the countryside is packed with thatched cottages, and traditional farms!

The house benefits from an Ideal location for touring Normandy beaches. It is just a 20 minute drive to Omaha Beach, and as well as being scenically beautiful the area is also steeped in history. This historic beach was the primary point of landing on June 6, 1944, for the entry of American forces into World War II and saw some of the most intense fighting in the entire war. You will also see an interesting sculpture by Anilor Banon right on the beach called "Les Braves".

We are also approximately a 35 minute drive to Bayeux. In Bayeux you will find the Bayeux Cathedral which towers over the entire town. The exterior is surrounded by the helpful informational signals on stone or wood blocks, explaining aspects of the church's construction or architectural features. The interior has some excellent views of the architecture, statues and murals, and there are several (empty) crypts you can visit beneath the church.

This cottage was cozy and quiet, and only a short drive from all the sites of Normandy.

Joy made sure we had a great trip to her cottage in Normandy... always responsive and helpful. The cottage itself is very charming, clean and cosy, and the location is quiet (we slept great) and convenient - not far from a super market (an Intermarche) and the major sites of Normandy (WW II, Mont-St-Michel). Highly recommended! PS - While you are there be sure to eat the butter and cream from Normandy! Wow!

We loved the little cottage in Normandy. We had our son and daughter in law with us and it was perfect for visiting the D-Day beaches and Mont St Michel. We also went to Bayeux and Honfleur. The cottage was outfitted with a washer and dryer and everything needed to make it a home away from home. We will definitely come back next time we are in France. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay!

This cosy cottage was just as advertised. This is a quaint little place in the middle of a very quite and beautiful French village. It offered the peace and relaxation we were after. The church bells (previously reported on here) were a lovely additional feature. You really do not notice them after a couple of dongs. The cottage is well placed to explore the area. The log fire was perfect for a chilly autumn evening. I would add the bathroom is very small, but the shower is super hot and powerful. I would come back in a heart beat, and suggest if you are looking for a cosy cottage in France, this is for you.

Lovely cottage with all equipment necessary and feeling at home immediately. I'm a good sleeper but I hear everything and unfortunately I couldn't adjust to the clocks of the church at 7.00 ;-) We loved the nice garden and it's a good place to travel to all the places like omaha beach and other WW II places. I would recommend this place to others. Thanks so much

Perfect base for our Normandy trip. Beautiful cottage, peaceful and quiet location. Check in and out were easy and the cottage had everything we needed. The only negative was that the wireless was not working while we were there, but for us, disconnecting and relaxing after long days of touring multiple Normandy sites ended up being a positive. Great stay!

I have had many careers in my working life, from couture dress maker to wine bar owner, from stay at home mother to busy hotelier . I am now happily retired and life never seemed busier.
