About this listing
We have a first-floor,two-room suite with its own entrance in our home, located on an official Vermont Scenic Highway, in the middle of the Green Mountains. The suite has a large sitting room with some cooking facilities, a bedroom with queen bed, and bathroom with tub/shower.
Our home is easy to access and easy to find. We are located just 20 minutes from Killington and Sugarbush ski areas and 10 minutes from the Middlebury Snow Bowl. It is 30 minutes to Middlebury and an hour to Burlington and Hanover. (45 minutes to Ben & Jerry's)
You will have your own entrance off the front porch. There is adjacent off-street parking.
The sitting room has a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, plates, dishes, cups and silverware.
Your studio is quite private, but you can have access to several nice sitting porches and our gardens.
There is a country store almost across the street (newly renovated), and it's a two-minute walk to a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Interaction with Guests
We will greet you, show you the accommodations and answer any questions we can about the area and its attractions. We have lived here for over 40 years, so we know the area and the people very well. We have enjoyed getting to know our guests, but rest assured that we will respect your privacy.
Eighty percent of the town of Hancock is Green Mountain National Forest. The setting is very rural, but there is a surprising number of interesting activities year-round. We love this community.
I'm a self-employed architect, theatrical director/actor/playwright, luthier, musician. I've lived in Vermont for over 40 years, having come here as part of the back-to-the-land movement of the 70's. Dorothy (composer, musician, music educator) and I founded a theatrical company in 1979 which is an important part of the local cultural and community scene. We love the outdoors: gardening, canoe-camping, cross-country skiing, bicycling. We love where we live and the wonderful sense of community here in the Green Mountains.
