The space
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike the easy nearby trail along the creek into Pisgah National Forest or drive 4 miles up to the blue ridge parkway for some of the best hikes in the area! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries.
The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator to turn on lights and charge cell phones, a water cooler for washing, and a pellet stove to warm up to. We provide an outdoor shower with a solar shower camping bag. We provide a very clean porta potty near the cabin. The outdoor fire pit is a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores- bring your own firewood. There is a charcoal grill next to the cabin if you like to grill out. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen we put out only during the warmer months). The cabin is heated by a pellet stove during the winter (Bring extra blankets if it’s calling for below freezing temps since the cabin isn’t insulated). Soft wood pellets are provided.
Please bring your own towels and bedding including pillows/queen size sheets/blankets or sleeping bags. We will have bedding available if you cannot bring your own- contact us in advance.
Bring a cooler with ice in it for your perishables (there is no fridge).
We provide basic cookware, a tea pot, coffee press and a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to wash dishes in. There is a well on site for you to refill your water bottles.
We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved, dogs of any size are welcome! Dogs cannot be left in the cabin unattended.
If you can't find the dates you want, check out our other awesome cabins by clicking on our Airbnb profile. We post last minute cancellations on Insta gram under Pisgah Highlands.
Guest access
This cabin is located on a 125 acres of private forest management land. We have other airbnb cabins located on the property but they are all far apart from one another.
Our favorite hiking and swimming holes are near the cabin on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Check out Black Balsam, Graveyard fields, Mount Pisgah, Skinny dip falls, Devils Courthouse and just hiking the Mountain to Sea trail. They often close the parkway for snow/ice conditions during the winter so be sure to check on road closure information before visiting. Even if the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed, you can still park up there and hike on the Mountain to Sea trail.
Near the cabin, there is an easy hike into Pisgah National Forest that we enjoy hiking along the creek and letting our dogs play in the stream.
Watch the sunset on our sweet two person swing! Bring charcoal along and grill out by the cabin. Hang out by the fire pit.
Other things to note
VERY IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE YOU BOOK:
PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING:
We are now recommending AWD or 4x4 to get to the property due to the gravel road leading up to the property. It is super bumpy! Many people ask about the Hurricane damage and you will find that most of Candler and downtown Asheville have minimal
Damage and most everything is up and operating as normal. The majority of the damage is in Biltmore Village near the Biltmore house and the River Arts district…and many surrounding towns outside of Asheville. In my opinion it’s a great time to be in Asheville! You can find parking and eat at any restaurant you want!
If there is snow or dangerous road conditions during the winter, we may have to close the roads to the cabin. Although it rarely snows here, be sure to check the weather and be prepared for a change in plans. I give full refunds if we have to cancel due to snow.
We provide a solar shower bag that can be heated in the sun and used year around in our outdoor shower. Other shower alternatives will be listed in our house manual.
To heat the cabin you will need to know how to run the pellet stove. Watch the YouTube instructions before your visit.
The bathroom is a porta potty that is emptied on Monday mornings sometime around 11 am. We have moved it away from the cabin so you can’t smell it.
The cabin is off grid and the solar generator collects sun for electricity. Only cell phones and small electronics can be plugged into the solar generator. No hair dryers. Although this situation is rare, if there is no sun...then there may be no electricity for the lights. Bring along lanterns and flashlights in case this happens and plan on charging your phone in your car if needed.
We do not have wifi. Most guests say they can get cell phone service from the cabin, but it depends on who your service provider is.
Use the swing at your own risk. It is super fun to swing on...but please be careful.
There is NO FRIDGE. Please bring a cooler and ice for your perishable items.
Bring your own towels, queen size sheets/blankets/sleeping bags/pillows.
All dogs of any type are welcome! Please help us keep this airbnb dog friendly by cleaning up after your pet!V
