Three Oaks Guest Inn was built in 1915. It is a cozy, fully furnished home with all its original oak woodwork, columns, built-ins & open stairway. There are 3 comfortable bedrooms and a foldout couch and a twin bed on the three season porch. The nicely decorated dining and living rooms, and fully furnished, modernized kitchen, make it perfect for either large or small groups...quiet family vacations, small meetings, bridal and baby showers, graduation receptions, birthday parties, girlfriend/scrap-booking/quilting getaways, family reunions, or any other sort of friendly get-togethers . Three Oaks Guest Inn is a true 'home-away-from-home'.
For more information and more photos of the rest of the house, please see the main listing for THREE OAKS GUEST INN.
We have cable TV and wireless internet and central air conditioning.
Guests have the use of the whole main floor and the kitchen is available for them to do whatever cooking they wish (just leave the dirty dishes in the dishwasher). There is a gas BBQ grill and a firepit in the back yard.
Guests have access to their own room and the family style bath on the 2nd floor.
There is a clothes washer and dryer in the basement
Interaction with Guests
We try to be there to greet our guests when they arrive, but if for some reason we can't be there in person, we ask them to call when they arrive so I can give them a 'phone tour'.
Depending on the guests, We may only visit long enough to go thru the basics of where things are, or if they have lots of questions or an interest, we can show them around outdoors, talk about the house's history, the guest's and our own families & backgrounds, were to go and what to see on our town, area, or state, or anything between. We can visit for a few minutes to a few hours, and are only a phone call away to answer any other questions.
Besides being on the river, we love the tall trees, large yards, older houses, friendly neighbors, and the overall peace and quiet of our neighborhood.
City taxi is available, but a lot of things are within walking distance.
Other Things to Note
If the calendar shows the whole house booked, please check the individual rooms for availability. It may be there is only one of the rooms rented, but that would make it impossible for someone else to rent the 'whole' house.
Our main rule is no smoking indoors. If you smoke outdoors, please pick up your butts!
We prefer no pets, though service animals are OK.
Please leave the place neat when you leave. You don't need to vacuum floors or stuff like that, but, please put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I will start it when I get there to clean.
If the trash is full or smelly, please put it in the garbage can outside the back door.
There is a trash can for re-cycling just inside the back door. Acceptable items are listed above it.
We are also available for event rentals at $30 for up to 5 hours. You can bring your own paper plates, etc or use one of our sets of stoneware or china. After an event, you are expected to leave the premises in the condition it was when you arrived, though unwashed dishes in the dishwasher are OK.
Weekly and monthly rates are negotiable, depending on how long you plan to stay and how many people. For stays over a week, if you bring your own towels & bedding, there is also a discount.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call us !
The room was clean and comfortable. The house is full of everything you want and much more. The garden is lovely. Super friendly host is more than happy to talk with you at length about the history of the house, and things to do and see in the area.
Kara was at the house when we arrived, and gave us a great orientation. We had booked the room very late, and she was really accommodating. Our room was cute, the house is incredible. Everything you could possibly need. We shared the bathroom and kitchen with another couple. The whole experience was good.
Made a last minute request to stay and kara was accomodating. The room and the house was comfy and very warm on a minus18 degree nite.
We had a great stay. The house was amazing and charming and our room was perfect. And Kara was the best hostess. Will definitely stay there again.
I had a wonderful stay. The home was warm, welcoming, and the bed itself was extremely comfortable. Kara came to the door - just as shared in a previous review - and stayed up for a while to chat. I was hoping I could experience what was shared by other visitors and was grateful I could. I feel as though I've made a new friend and look forward to staying in touch.
Kara was a wonderful host. She welcomed me at the door and showed me around the house. The room was neat, clean, and so was the restroom.
I was unable to go out to dinner with her and the other guests, but she made sure I was taken care of (dinner/breakfast-wise).
I would stay here again!
Kara was awesome. We made a reservation three hours before getting into town and she put together a room for us last minute. The house was nice and Kara was a great host. We would stay there again if on valley!
