Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Our beautiful adobe pool house is a Tucson gem. Comfortable queen bed, fireplace, and stylish modern furnishings with large windows looking out to trees and sparkling pool. Vaulted ceilings and natural light make for a restful space. Located in historic Jefferson Park, it’s a midtown oasis close to the UofA and two blocks from the UMC/Banner Medical Center. Midtown/University location allows for convenient access to all of Tucson. *Newly improved high speed WiFi 11/1/2021

The space
The pool house is adjacent to a large pool, and enjoys total privacy from the 1930's Spanish Colonial house and casita (guesthouse) on the property. Enter through a gate in the adobe walls to a courtyard and into the pool area. Huge sliding doors can be opened to the patio, where you can enjoy morning coffee at the table by a sparkling pool and a distant mountain view, or sit under the string lights in the evening. The Pool House is a classic vintage structure with beamed ceiling and wood burning fireplace. As well as a queen sized bed, there are arm chairs, a recliner, and a desk in the bedroom, and the bathroom is fully stocked with pool and bath towels, soaps and hairdryer, and has a large enclosed shower. A mini fridge, electric kettle, and everything for brewing locally roasted, freshly ground coffee is in the room. Other kitchen items can be brought in for longer stays upon request, as well as use of the gas grill and burner on the patio.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive use of the pool house, and are free to enjoy the pool, grill, and other outdoor spaces shared with our family and the casita guests. The pool is not heated, and so is best enjoyed late April - October. Guests are free to use the pool at any time of year, but when the night time temperatures are still cool, expect that the water will also be cool accordingly! Beat the desert heat in the pool or enjoy our cooler seasons by sitting outdoors or lighting a fire. Firewood is provided. Check out is by 11am, but unless we have other guests coming in that day, it isn't usually a problem to extend that time.

Other things to note
Because of our proximity to the hospital, there are occasional sirens/helicopter landings that can be heard in the distance from outside or potentially if windows are open.

Neighborhood highlights

Jefferson Park is on the National Historic Register and is a great example of a classic Tucson neighborhood. Though on a quiet residential street, the University Medical Center (UMC now called Banner) is less than two blocks away with the University of Arizona just beyond. Seeing Tucson is best with a car- the city is fairly spread out and the mountains and desert need a vehicle for best access- unless you are a serious biker! It is walkable to the street car that takes you through the University District, 4th Avenue, downtown, the Convention Center, and on to the Mercado. No need to find for a big game!

My family and I are are British-American and have loved living overseas as we've had the opportunity. We enjoy traveling and adventuring with our little ones, though it is more low key these days! I love good food, experiencing new cultures, photography, and (above all) quality time with my family. Airbnb has been a great resource for us to have more privacy and flexibility as a traveling family, and I've loved becoming a host and providing a space I'd enjoy staying in myself!
