Our studio retreat is isolated from neighbors by trees, boulders, and its hilltop location in this small mountain community. We’re close to Arizona’s Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park and The Shrine of St. Joseph of the Mountains. You may well see deer, javelina, ravens, buzzards, and other wildlife. Our suite is perfect for couples and solo adventurers. It is very quiet, day and night, and has excellent views of Antelope Peak, the Weaver Mountains, and the famous Arizona sunsets.

Location

Yarnell, Arizona, United States

There are three major attractions for you to visit and many other things to do:
The new Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park, just down Yarnell Hill, features a steep uphill climb off of Hwy 89, to the top of the mountain and down the other side to the incident site. This park was created during the last two years to honor the 19 brave firefighters that lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill wildfire on June 30, 2013.
In downtown Yarnell, our own Yarnell Hill Fire Memorial Park, dedicated to the fallen firefighters, is under construction (still needing money to finish the project).
It’s an easy six-block walk to The Shrine of St. Joseph of the Mountains, which includes a walk in the boulders and trees through Jesus’ life from birth to burial with statures memorializing significant events along the way.
Yarnell is one of several gold mining towns close by and we have prospectors galore in the area. You will find an excellent gun shop, antique shops, and a boutique. There are restaurants and an excellent bakery. There are also artists and a gallery, the public library, and a hectic Community terrific thrift store to help support it.
Our community is exceptionally dynamic when it comes to local leadership. There is always something going on here. Tai Chi, meditation, yoga, classes in music and painting are currently available. And we have three churches offering services and classes on Sundays.
At approximately an elevation of 4,800 feet, you will be enjoying cool mountain breezes, terrain, and winding roads coming from Prescott or Phoenix. The vistas are gorgeous and we feel it is the perfect place to live. With mountains surrounding us and cooler temperatures then the valley we have a wide variety of Arizona’s wildlife here. We’re 35 miles northeast of Wickenburg or 45 miles southwest of Prescott on State Route 89. Yarnell is a wonderful small town experience for any traveler.

We're a long-time married couple in an extremely hospitable little town. Our home burned down in the tragic Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013, but we found another place in town to buy, that we love. We're very active in the Yarnell community and love the weather. We think there are an amazing number of things to see and do here in the high desert of Arizona, and we enjoy it every day. Our guest Suite is called Raven's Nest because we were privileged to be able to watch a raven couple raise a brood of three outside our home and through this experience we came to love these bright communicative birds. We have always loved to travel and stayed in many BnBs over the years which is how we knew what our suite needed to make it perfect for our guests.

During your stay
We give our guests space and privacy, but we won’t be very far away when you’re here. (Yarnell is so small, we can’t GET very far away!) If you need anything, we’ll provide it, or tell you where you can find it yourself. We’ve lived in Yarnell for about 14 years, and know all the movers and shakers (your hostess is the honorary mayor!), between us, we can answer most of your questions. We are happy to get to know you if you are social, and respectful if you would just like to be alone.
