Fabulous we had a fantastic stay in a Rome. The apartment is perfect , great location and Simonetta is a wonderful host. Wish we had more time to stay a few more days.
Tiny but charming appartement perfectly situated and very well furnished. And of course great warm welcome by Simonetta and her husband. Highly recommanded.
Simonetta was very helpful and accommodating. She organized a car to meet us at the airport and set up a toddler bed for my young daughter before our arrival. The Malva apartment was clean, well equipped and very charming, but it was smaller than I judged from the photographs. The terrace was lovely, washing machine worked well, and beds were comfortable. The location was wonderful, in the heart of Trastevera, close to the Ponte Sisto and an easy walk to many parts of Rome. Simonetta kindly recommended good restaurants in the neighborhood, and left helpful information about public transportation and nearby landmarks. It was very hot during our stay, and unfortunately the AC unit in the bedroom did not seem up to adequately cooling both rooms in the apartment.
Simonetta's place was absolutely wonderful! She was an amazing host and helped us with anything we needed. The apartment was the perfect place to come back to after long days out. I wish we weren't so busy and had more time to spend at the place. The terrace is gorgeous and very relaxing. Even though it is in a very busy and desirable location we had no problem sleeping as the noise did not travel in and the AC worked perfect throughout the house. We had a really lovely time there and would definitely love to stay at her place again! Thanks Simonetta
First, I would like to say that Simonetta was very kind and waited for us for at least 2 hours as we were slow in getting from the airport to the apartment, and we were so grateful she did considering we had no phones. She also left us a bottle of wine and some treats! The apartment itself was lovely, everything there was perfect, there was so much attention to detail with every aspect of the apartment. The most important thing to me in any place I stay is comfort while I sleep, and these beds were very comfortable. Thanks for making our stay in Rome so comfortable Simonetta.
We had a terrific stay! Simonetta couldn't have been more helpful and made our 1 night layover in Rome a memorable one. We loved eating pizza in the courtyard while our baby caught up on sleep after a long flight. Location could not be better.. Really beautiful area close to all the main attractions and lots of lovely cafes. A nice children's playground about 5 min walk away was great for those traveling with young children.
Simonetta richly deserves the Superhost recognition she has been awarded!
Simonetta is supremely friendly, kind, and affectionate; she welcomed us cheerfully, as if we were old friends on a long-awaited visit to her home. We all received warm hugs and she insisted on helping us with our luggage as we made our way to her stunningly beautiful apartment (in a great old building with plenty of character and a small elevator).
She thoughtfully cooled off the whole place with A/C in advance of our visit and had the splendid gesture of presenting us with a nice bottle of red wine, exquisite chocolate cookies (and fruit juice for our son) as we arrived. Very much appreciated!!!
Simonetta carefully showed us on the map (a map she provided) every place we wished to visit, as well as her favorite restaurants and cafés in the vibrant Trastevere neighborhood (and beyond). On the kitchen table she had displayed printed, detailed instructions on how to navigate Rome in public transit and followed up with her own explanations, in fluent English, on how to reach all of the destinations about which we inquired. She even offered to arrange for a shuttle service to the airport (although there is also a taxi stand merely 3 blocks away). Simonetta texted us the following day to make sure that everything met our expectations—and they were definitely exceeded. She is an accommodating, vivacious, and courteous host.
The listing was as exactly as pictured, perhaps even nicer and more spacious than it appears on her photos. It is pristine and meticulously decorated, with a comfortable full-size bed in a well-appointed and quiet bedroom (with thick curtains for a restorative night's rest). The apartment has fine architectural details and every modern amenity, including a laundry room and speedy Wifi access. Simonetta has planned ahead for every conceivable need her guests may have: there is a compact speaker system with an iPhone dock, a laptop, and a writing desk; a toaster for sandwich bread; a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave oven; plenty of fresh towels and bathroom essentials; even plug adapters and a small safe for valuables in the closet. Simply everything a guest could potentially need to make a visit comfortable is already there.
The patio courtyard is spectacular!!! It is private, quiet, and pretty big, with classy patio furniture, including a table for four and a lounge area with plenty of plants and flowers—even orange trees. It also has a large umbrella for lunches under the sun and a comfortable loveseat with cozy pillows and candles (perfect for an evening bottle of wine).
Trastevere is a picturesque, hip neighborhood. Cafés, nice small shops, and plenty restaurants are within an easy stroll—even a prosciutteria a few blocks away. Ponte Sisto is a quick, pleasant walk away, as are Isola Tiberina and Vatican City.
Simonetta is a magnificent host and her apartment is a fantastic place to relax in Rome/Trastevere. We have nothing but the highest praise for Simonetta and her listing.
