Friendly dogs live on the property but stay separate from guests. Your private lower-level suite is accessed by stairs. Visitors may hear the occasional creaky floor, which is simply part of this home’s character.
The space
Our home is on a peaceful 10-acre mountain retreat in the middle of the woods. Since we are located on a higher elevation temperatures can average 6 to 8 degrees cooler than the surrounding area.
The apartment has a Mini Fridge, Microwave, Electric Kettle, Drip Coffee Maker, and ROKU TV for your use.
We recently opened (Jan 2020) an additional private guesthouse on our property. The guesthouse is a larger space in a detached building with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. It is listed on Airbnb as Skyhourse Retreat Guest House.
Winter Note: The higher elevation also means ice and snow are much longer here than in the valley. While we are constantly clearing the deck, stairs, and road, we have no control over Mother Nature and cannot guarantee that the area is free of ice and snow. In particularly snowy weather, we may advise that you will need a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle.
Guest access
You have access to a private deck and a shared hot tub with phenomenal views of the Shenandoah Valley. There is also a fire pit, with plenty of firewood and kindling, for you to use if you would like to sit outside in the evening.

We Will Not Accept A Reservation Without A Current Unaltered Picture Of The Person Making The Request In Their Profile.
We are located a short distance from the Appalachian Trail and numerous wineries, breweries & distilleries.

Neighborhood highlights
Peaceful, and quiet, on top of a mountain, it's normally 6 to 10 degrees cooler than the valley. We are equidistant between Berryville and Purcellville (10 miles each way). We are about five miles from the small town of Pine Grove, which has The Horseshoe Curve (live music, bar, and restaurant), the Pine Grove Restaurant.

I have been in the IT industry since the dawn of time (or at least since there were punched cards). I recently retired, and I do not miss that daily commute into the DC area. I have begun several new hobbies that I am able to enjoy on the mountain to include creating a Monarch Way Station. I have a huge seed collection from my garden and can share some if you like! I have started woodworking and have made a lot of deck furniture.
