Redwood Treehouse Santa Cruz Mtns.

Treehouse - Entire home/apt · Vaca Del Sol, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States

The Space

A magical Redwood Treehouse located it the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. There (email hidden) tree growing right through the main living area and another in the bathroom! It is simply incredible. It was built by my friend, Randy, a stained glass artist. Everyone who sees it are delighted by it.

Please read entire description before making a reservation request.

It has a delicious high-bed, a kitchen with a small stove and refrigerator, and typical cooking tools. There is a full bathroom with shower and toilet of course.

There is now a hot-tub at about 103 degrees ready for your soak before bed or a morning treat.

The Treehouse is a short walk of a few hundred yards (about four minutes) through the beautiful woods from the parking area.

There is a gas stove for heating. There is a TV and DVD player with many movies to choose from.

Redwood Treehouse comes with its own cat, Grey, who lives outside. She is employed as a mouser and does a fine job. She is friendly and loves attention.

For travelers this is the best of both worlds. A wonderful treehouse nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1(Pacific Coast HWY) the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor.

People come from all over the world to experience the Pacific Coast specifically the Monterey Bay area. It is an area rich in history. Here you will find world class art, music, cuisine, golf, surfing, sightseeing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, whale watching, birding, fishing, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and so much more. You can spend the day engaged in a variety of activities, physical and/or cultural. However you spend your day you can return home to a mountain treehouse and quiet.

The weather here is excellent. It is located in a micro climate called a ‘banana belt’. Though the beach is only 25 minutes away we are often in the sun when our neighbors in the valley and on the coast are in the fog. Winters are mild we average 25” of rainfall a year. Summers can be warm but delightful. The fog rolling in at night is nature’s air conditioner and everything cools down. The weather is nearly perfect. Fog burns off early enough to make the beaches comfortable all day.

The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to Sequoia Sempervirens commonly known as a Redwood Tree. They are native only to a specific part of Pacific Coast region.

Come and visit our amazing part of the world and experience something special about the California Coast.

All linens are provided. The kitchen has the basic items for cooking, i.e., spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, and tea.

Two-night minimum on weekends. THREE-DAY MINIMUM on HOLIDAY WEEKENDS.

A 60.00 cleaning fee will be charged per each stay.

We are a green establishment. Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used. We ask our guests to consider using fewer towels during their stay and not requesting a sheet change unless your stay is longer than a week.

  • What can I say.... except... what an absolutely enchanting experience to spend a night in a treehouse amongst the redwoods! I've stayed in some beautiful locations around the world but this entire experience was exceptional and a top 5.

Mary Jane was so friendly, responsive, and a gracious host!

We already recommended this location to a few of our friends and hope they will get a chance to stay, relax, and enjoy the trees!

    Thanks Mary Jane!

  • Great little place up in the hills. Long and quiet drive up to the place but so quiet once you are there. My 4yo loved it!

  • I surprised my wife by taking her here for our 1 year anniversary. We had an extraordinary weekend with incredible weather. It couldn't be any better. Great place, wonderful time, great hospitality, welcoming, I can't say enough about the treehouse that will do it justice. You just have to experience it for yourself.

  • It was a surprise for my wife's B Day. Here are a few words to describe the Treehouse. (Rustic, Charming, Quite, Peaceful and Romantic.)
We watched movies, played games, sat in the spa and enjoyed each other company.

Gray the cat was very friendly.

We have already sent pictures to our friends and recommended that they stay at this wonderful place.

Mary Jane and two of her sons were very good hosts.

    Thank You

  • We loved the treehouse! It was very peaceful and comfortable. Both the scenery and the inside of the house was beautiful. And having a TV was a nice touch, especially because it had a fun DVD collection, including the amazing DinoTopia! We will definitely be back!

  • Had an amazing 2 nights in the tree house. Really nice and clean, had everything you need, great hot tub just a few steps from the front door. Grey the cat is an awesome companion. Thank you so much Mary Jane! We hope to come back and stay again sometime. Would highly recommend!

  • We had a great time at the Treehouse! It was comfortable and cozy and we definitely felt that we had our privacy. Gray was adorable and definitely a highlight! The kitchen is fully stocked with basic spices and cookware although you should bring a baking pan if you want to make some brownies. The hot tub was so relaxing. Overall our stay was just what we had hoped for!

  • The treehouse is a lovely spot for a weekend getaway. A stand of 4 redwoods support the structure. Inside is cozy thanks to the propane fireplace/heater. We were lucky enough to have it storm and rain while there which serves to make you feel all the more like a forest creature. Tucked up warm and dry, like a children's book. Lots of kitchen utensils and basic spices. Stepping into the uninsulated bathroom is pretty chilly, but hey! You're in a treehouse!

My only lament is that it's not exactly isolated. Despite walking down a 1/4 mile trail to reach the location, there are several structures around, up on the hill above as well as an old boat and tarps and odds and ends on the forest floor below. You can't see any of it from inside but diminishes the otherwise secluded beauty of the place a little bit.

A neighbors road also runs right up the hill next to the treehouse 15 yards away and the comically high bed brings you right up to the bottom sill. So you might want to rig up a curtain for some privacy.

Bring along someone who makes the world outside disappear anyway and none of it matters...

  • The treehouse was stunning and it had all the modern conveniences. I particularly enjoyed walking along the path to the treehouse and the sometimes stunning silence. Sitting on the porch listening to the owls became a ritual for me. It's a short drive to anywhere but there is a pretty complete market in Corralitos at the bottom of the mountain - about 10 minutes away. If you want solitude with access to some amenities and you value nature, this might be the place for you.
