This friendly mostly Mexican family neighborhood and colorful street will give you a snapshot into the culture and life in SMA. We are an easy (5-20 min) flat walk from our quite lane to everywhere in Centro, which is where the action is. Our decor is playful blended with Mexican architectural touches. Our interor living space has great light and exterior spaces are both partially covered to enjoy on the sunniest days. We hope you will fall in love with SMA and enjoy our home as much as we do.

The space
The first floor living space consists of the Kitchen, Living room, Dining room, 1/2 bath, open interior garden and primary bedroom with private bath. The floorplan is open and welcoming with a gas fireplace in the living room and beamed ceilings throughout. The kitchen island has a sweet breakfast island which also serves as additional prep area for cooks. The primary bedroom looks out onto the garden, it has skylights, a big walk in closet and newly renovated master bath with large walk in shower with a seat. My favorite spot is sitting under the alcove in the interior garden listening to the soothing water coming from the fountain. The Garden is accessed by the kitchen and the Master Bedroom. Upstairs is a office area and reading nook, the washer and dryer closet, 2 comfortable bedrooms, a full bath with a bathtub and a large outdoor entertaining space with a gas fireplace. Perfect for dining or relaxing.

Guest access
You can use the entire house.

Neighborhood highlights

When we walked down our narrow street we knew it was home. There are two small dead ends that are more like a pedestrian walkways off Privada de Animas. Older children play soccer on one end and little ones are outside their homes safely since there is no traffic. A small bodega with an older gent who seems like a fixture nods as we walk halfway up the street to our house. I love that this is a family neighborhood where you feel immersed in the of real life of San Miguel.
We bought our house in June of 2016, a very special spot away from the action but within striking distance of everything. We walk everywhere or take a taxi (if its raining), we prefer to live without a car. If you do have a car do not expect to park on our street, there are municipal overnight parking lots in SMA.
In San Miguel the sounds of dogs barking, roosters crowing, street noise from cars and buses are all part of living in most city homes. We are so fortunate since we rarely hear anything except laughter of children playing and only if our doors and windows are open.
Our favorite breakfast spot is Garumbullo on Animas only a few steps from the best bakery in San Miguel as you make a right onto Animas toward town. You can smell the fresh tortilla being baked and sold at the top of Animas just before the Artisans Market which has tons of local craftspeople and a farmers market with everything you could want. All of this only a 5-15 minute walk from the house and you are right in the middle of everything, restaurants, galleries, parks, shopping and the center of San Miguel where there is always a celebration in the Jardin. 10-15 minutes in the other direction toward The Fabrica la Aurora (factory turned upscale artists galleries, a must see) you are in Guadalupe, a quaint neighborhood with the most amazing mural art everywhere. Check out the fresh organic produce at the Mercado Sano which has a great farmers market on Saturdays.
We love being in Centro and if you want a great experience in San Miguel you have to walk and explore. Our neighborhood is a wonderful place to start.

I’m always busy and goal oriented, I am also a social butterfly so I feel comfortable with people, I’m told I am easy to be with. I find the positive in every experience so it seems my glass is always half full. I am a believer in "you get what you give", or in other words, what goes around comes around. Retired and loving my new life being a ceramic artist and traveling around the world.
