Casa Placencia Studio Suite Apartment is a great place to stay! The studio is spacious yet cozy. It has a sun room attached that overlooks the garden and pool where I enjoyed my breakfast, reading and writing. There are bikes to use. Ride into the Village or enjoy a leisurely walk (15 minutes). The staff is amazing, helpful and take pride in their work, keeping the rooms nice and clean and free of bugs. Jacki is a terrific, knowledgeable and hoot of a host! She will help you with anything at any time. She also makes delicious baked goods! I consider her a friend and can't say enough good things about her and Casa Placencia.
Let me first off say this: Jacki is awesome, she really helped me get settled, giving me a bike to use and giving me recommendations on the good restaurants in town and tour operators (make sure you use Doyle if you go to Cockscomb basin, thanks for the great tip Jacki!). She also is very responsive to feedback, and will be willing to make sure your stay is comfor
The place is very nice, looks just like the photos. The complex as a whole is also very nice, with a lot of lush greenery and is just far enough out of town to be quiet but also a short walk or bike ride.
We stayed at Jacki’s place “Casa Placencia” for 9 nights during mid-April and we had the most wonderful time. We couldn't have asked for more. She was so helpful and goes way above and beyond the norm to make sure your stay is the best it can be. We enjoyed it so much that we are looking to buy in Belize sometime in the near future. Don’t wait just go, you will have the time of your life!!!
I know we did!!!
Thanks again, Ellen & Paul
Casa Placencia was a great place to stay for my week long vacation in Placencia. Jacki was a fantastic hostess as well as a wonderful baker that would occasionally leave tasty treats at my door. She even sent me off with an oversized muffin so I would have something to snack on while I waited at the airport.
Jacki is further very familiar with the island and understood what I needed from the vacation so she tailored my stay accordingly. Bikes were provided and most tourists were envious of it. The bike to the edge of town at a casual pace only takes about 10-15 minutes and is very pleasant as the road is not very busy and many people get around town by golf cart, bike, or by walking.
Also I should mention how clean the place was and how beautiful the decorations were. I felt extremely safe which was important being a single female traveling on her own. Her staff was also very helpful and willing to fill you in on good spots to hang out on the beach as well as where to eat. Someone was always available to help and in a great mood.
Other house guests were also very friendly and even did activities together. I think Jacki does an excellent job picking her guests that stay over.
Overall, I loved my stay at Casa Placencia and would highly recommend it to anyone. The place is clean, staff is friendly and helpful, other guests are nice, and if you get some of Jacki's baked goods you simply will not want to leave--I know I really struggled to :)
Irish couple over 30years of age travelling around Guatemala and Belize December 2013 - January 2014.
We stayed in both the one bed apartment and the studio apartment. The apartments are spotless (cleaned every day) with everything that your require provided (towels, fridge, tv, AC).
Free bikes are provided which make it really easy access to Placencia village (5-10mins max away). Walking to village is also an option if you prefer. New pool has been installed to rear.
Jacki is an excellent host and knows everything about Placencia and beyond to assist you in your stay. Also her homemade treats are delicious & an added bonus!!
You will never find a more welcoming and upbeat host than Jacki. I'd like to think it was our irresistible magnetism, but the truth is, it's probably Jacki just being her normal, friendly, generous self when she greets you with warm, home-baked sour cream coffeecake or whole-wheat cranberry/cherry muffins straight from the oven.
Gary and I spent 7 days in her top-floor 1-bedroom garden apartment with the veranda overlooking the road. The apartment was charming: lively tropical colors, cool tiled floors, colorful mosaic tiles and paintings, lots of lush tropical flowers and greenery. The kitchen comes stocked with everything we needed: coffeemaker and coffee, blender to make smoothies, fridge and stove. (Air-con too, but we didn't need it. Cable flat-screen TV with tons of channels.) The table, chairs and hammock on the veranda are inviting places to spend the evenings enjoying the sounds of the gecko calls and frog peeps and people-watching. Jacki has bicycles for her guests, and we loved the convenience of riding our bikes to town (about a 5-minute ride) to try the many delicious restaurants and eateries; we much appreciated getting some exercise before and after all the lobster and gelato. The bike ride also cools you off on the warmer days.
Jacki gives great advice on things to see and do: ask her before you decide-- she'll steer you to the right people. She also has two little dogs that are willing to dispense furry love as needed.
I can honestly say that after bicycling down every walkway and road in Placencia, Jacki has the most attractive-looking place. Inside and out, her place was comfortable, clean, bright and cheery. You can't go wrong here! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Casa Placencia is a perfect cottage a block from a lovely beach. It is well equipped and has good air conditioning. It is close to restaurants, which are numerous and excellent, and to markets and banks.
Jackie, our host has encyclopedic information on everything to do in the area and is a pleasure to be with.
Placencia is a nice, clean beach town with very friendly locals.
