Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
A basic, budget option of a single room in my lovely modern home, with use of the newly refurbished family bathroom. I live within 15-20 mins drive from Mansfield and Worksop. Chesterfield, Sheffield and Nottingham can all be reached in less than an hour. Sherwood Forest and Sherwood pines mountain bike trail are less than 10 mins drive, with lots of nice walks in the vicinity. Easy on street parking and a relaxed homely feel.

The space
The room has a single bed and cupboard. It is basic but cosy, perfect for a night's stop over or short trip. It does not offer any luxuries, for example, TV, mirror or beauty station. But if you want a comfy bed for the night look no further! It is at the back of the house so very quiet and looks out onto the garden. The bathroom is just next door. Towels and toiletries are provided, and please help yourself to a hot drink downstairs. I'm happy to help you out with other things you might need, or may have forgotten so please do just ask.
My home is very relaxed, it's not a hotel, but that's what I and my guests enjoy about it. I offer a clean space but my stuff may be around. I am a busy person but rest assured your room will always be clean, tidy and ready for you! I don't stay in the house but am easily available by phone and can be back in less than 10 mins if there are any problems.

I have other double rooms listed which have more amenities eg TV. If more than one guest is booked, the bathroom and kitchen facilities will be shared.

It is a strictly no-smoking property (including all outside areas). Smoking is taken very seriously as not only a fire risk but also there are family members with respiratory difficulties who will not be able to access the property if there is smoke odour. Any smoking will incur a penalty fee and guests will be asked to vacate immediately.

Guest access
My home is your home for your stay. You will have your own key and are welcome to come and go as you please (but please be mindful of other guests if they are staying). There is no access to the garage. The washing machine may be used at an additional fee.
I provide a "help yourself" breakfast which is mainly continental

During your stay
I'm a welcoming host always happy to chat over a cup of tea if I'm around. I respond to messages quickly and prefer to communicate through messaging services. Happy to provide information on local area

Other things to note
I have three other rooms and often have more than one room occupied so bathroom and kitchen facilities are often shared. My guests love meeting new people.
I believe in trust and don't have locks on bedroom doors but obviously the bathroom door does! Door wedges are provided in the rooms if guests wish to use them.

In the winter months heating and hot water is set to come on twice a day. If guests require more a surcharge may apply.

The washing machine is charged at £3.50 per load.

Early check in and late check out may be arranged by prior approval. There is an extra charge of £10

Please note 18.6% of the total price paid is retained by AirBnB, based on current AirBnB service fees

Neighborhood highlights

I live in a quiet residential area with no through traffic as it is a cul-de-sac. It's only a few minutes walk to the village high street which offers a Post Office, bakeries, butchers, grocery store and various take aways.

I have a happy, warm, welcoming home. I have a busy life and do not live in the property, but will always help you to make the most of your visit to Nottinghamshire whether that is in person or through messages. I enjoy travel, films and tv and reading. I love living in the rural forests of Nottinghamshire.
