The Space

The cottage has character and color. It is further enhanced by the original art by John which is placed throughout.
It is surrounded by private green areas.
At times it is rather crittery around here ,watching the birds and squirrels from the shade deck is fun. Raccoons, skunks and possums cruise through now and then. The cats wander here and there in the yard.
The location is exceptional. You are in a country setting yet just a stroll down the lane gets you to the excellent restaurants. The Glen Ellen Inn is cozy and excellent . Enjoy the free corkage at the Fig Cafe. The Glen Ellen Star is new, small and very lively. Have all the wine you want, walk back down the lane
No worries !

The kitchen has a microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle, full size sink and fridge, plus a dish washer. A barbecue is also available.

Interaction with Guests

We live in the main house at the front of the property.
If any one needs info or assistance with a situation we are happy to help.

The Neighborhood

Nearby is Jack London State park which is incredibly fascinating with more buildings open than ever before.
Glen Ellen is right next to Kenwood which is also great to explore, aside from outstanding wineries there is the Sugarloaf Park observatory where you can be free of lights and look through their telescopes with the docent astronomers.
A jeep tour company is based in Glen Ellen which is a lot of fun and reasonably priced. They will even take you out to the
Pacific Ocean . Open Air Jeep Tours (website hidden)

  • Very comfortable cottage in a convenient setting in Glen Ellen. My wife, young child and I have a wonderful time here.

  • We had a wonderful experience staying at 'Crow Cottage"! The cottage is clean, comfortable, artistic, and private! We especially enjoyed the feel of nature! We woke to the sounds of birds and the view of trees through the windows and skylights!
The patio was a perfect setting for us to have time for relaxation and reflection in the morning! We loved all of the unusual decor and artwork scattered throughout the cottage and patios!
Della was a wonderful hostess, telling us about the artwork, and also directing us to and dropping us off at a hiking location nearby! John was off to show his art somewhere, but we hope to meet him the next time!
This is a perfect getaway for one night or several!

  • The cottage was the perfect retreat for my husband and I after a day of biking! It is decorated perfectly. John and Della were both there to greet us and John offered us some plums. The accommodations were very comfortable and everything was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay in Glen Ellen. The town is tiny (just one strip of "town") and really cute. Despite its size, the restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the cottage are wonderful. We hope to return again!

  • Crow cottage was a great place to stay! Would definitely stay again, great location, a couple restaurants nearby and a couple tasting rooms just around the corner. We met john and Della for a couple minutes and they seemed like great people! The cottage was behind their home, but very private. The place is exactly how the pictures show it, exciting, bright, clean and well taken care of. We would stay again and would highly recommend staying at the cottage! Thanks!

  • My sister and I stayed here and LOVED the Whimsical Crow Cottage. It was extremely comfortable (great bed and roomy bathroom with a nice shower), a great location, truly a 3 min walk to the Glen Ellen Inn and The Girl and the Fig restaurant. The Crow Cottage is on a quiet street and sits behind John and Della's home and feels very private with the surrounding patio filled with John's fun Yard Art. Even on a warm day, the cottage has a great breeze and stayed cool. The kitchen/refrigerator area is perfect for making coffee, tea, and an easy breakfast or snacks. Della has the attentive decorating "touch", so everywhere you look there is fun, whimsical art work. You can't help but feel happy here.

  • We spent a couple of great nights in the "Crow Cottage"! Very private cottage and besides startling Della one evening while watering her garden, we never saw John & Della. The cottage has all the items we needed for our short visit. We were constantly discovering a new piece of art to admire as the cottage and gardens are a private mini-gallery. Definitely recommend Glen Ellen, Crow Cottage, & the Sonoma Valley Wine Country.

  • Everything was perfect! We stayed here for our wedding weekend and it worked out great. We were even able to have our wedding party and family over the morning after for breakfast in the patio area! They were very gracious hosts! Thanks John and Della!

  • Although I didn't get to meet John and Della in person, I had a fantastic stay at their cottage. Easy walking access to the cute little town of Glen Ellen, and easy drive to both Sonoma and Napa Valleys. The cottage was perfect for two, and I wish we could have stayed more than just one night. I loved the decor and artwork, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I slept on during my whole trip to Northern California. Just be sure nobody is allergic to cats before choosing this place, as they roam the property freely. Nonetheless, I would not hesitate to stay at Crow Cottage again!

  • The cottage is very clean and pretty, especially the bathroom. I met John when we were checking in because we came to the cottage earlier than the checking in time. He is very very nice. I absolutely love the stay at the cottage!!

  • My friend and I stayed at Crow Cottage for 3 nights after 2 weeks touring Japan.
Everything was ready for us and it was sooo quiet and comfortable. Great restaurants and wineries are just a short walk away. The cottage is so well equipped and clean. The decor is charming with an abundance of artistic flair. We loved it and highly recommend staying there.
