A peaceful country cottage that works best for single traveler, couple or small family. An open floor plan has two queen beds and a shared bathroom. This modest home sits on one acre lot, with main entry at rear. A covered porch extends onto an open deck with views of the woodland, with ample parking. There is a kitchenette, dining area, a full laundry and workroom area. Bring your bike since we are near The Little Miami Scenic Trail and we are not far from all the major attractions in town.

The space
This modest, private, quiet country cottage/cabin is suitable for 1 to 4 with "dorm style" accommodations with open floor plan of 1,150 square feet. Good for a family that needs two beds. A quiet, peaceful country cottage/cabin for solo adventurer or a couple, with master bedroom and queen-size bed next to a full bath. The second bedroom also has a queen-size bed for extra family or close friends (since they must use open hall area in master bedroom to get into the bathroom. There are no doors on these bedrooms, so "dorm-style" is a good description. Bathroom is private and has door with lock. This home is filled with Ohio Valley farm country family heirlooms, antiques, original art, with vintage and handcrafted items. Modest home sits on one acre lot, with entry at rear of building with porch and deck facing garage and woodland. Near the deck is an old apple tree with bird feeders, hanging plants and deer have been known to emerge to graze in the meadow at dusk. A covered porch extends on to an open deck with Weber charcoal grill, umbrella, table and chairs. You can park eight feet from your door and take two steps up to a one-floor living plan. There is a kitchenette (full size refrigerator, small oven and three burner stove top with bar sink) and dining area with dishes and cutlery in the sideboard or use the paper plates that are provided. The choice is yours since you can grab a quick meal and keep refreshments handy throughout your stay. There is a full laundry and work room area if your stay is a work gig and you need to store tools or inventory. Garage use is available and this feature can be requested. We have enough parking space so if you wish to bring your boat, a trailer or RV (125V/30A hook-up); this also can be arranged.

If local outdoor activities are the thing for you, we have the bike/hiking trail, nearby parks and the river:
Little Miami Scenic Trail is less than a quarter mile down our hill. It goes as far south as Newtown/Anderson and as far north as Yellow Springs (about 83 miles of trail). If you are an avid biker our cottage is the place to be! We can accommodate weather-free, safe storage of your bikes in the locked garage or, if necessary, the storage/laundry area next to your bedroom. So, if you are in training or just looking for a casual weekend bike ride, consider our cottage for a home-base.
Lake Isabella is a nearby (3 miles), quiet, well-maintained Hamilton County park with a 28-acre pay lake that is stocked with fish from March to October. If fishing isn’t for you there are picnic areas with shelters/grills, playground, full restrooms, a canoe/kayak launch into the Little Miami River, a wildlife viewing shelter and planned activities throughout the year. Permit fees are low at $14/annual and $5/daily for visitors.
Kelly Nature Preserve is less than 2 miles away on Route 126, near the west edge of Miamiville directly on the Little Miami River. It offers free access from morning to dusk, with a parking area, launch for canoe or kayak, a hiking trail through the 42 acre rustic preserve to a wildlife viewing area and a wild meadow full of native plants.
If you really want to spend a full day of hiking in the woods, there are a number of spots around our area, but our favorite is the Cincinnati Nature Center. It is not far, just a 20 minute drive east of Milford (there are visitor fees).
Other attractions in the north east side of Cincinnati: we are close to Indian Hill, Montgomery (with popular Montgomery Inn for BBQ), Blue Ash and Milford; fifteen minutes from Kenwood Mall, Harper’s Point, Deerfield Township, Mason, Kings Island Amusement Park, The Beach Waterpark, APT Tennis Tournament, Proctor and Gamble; 20 minutes from Sharonville, Voice of America Park, IKEA in West Chester at Union Centre; 30 minutes in reg. traffic to downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Retired Graphic Designer who enjoys collecting photography and volunteering. I grew up on a dairy farm in Ohio and have worked professionally on both the east and west coasts, but moved back to Ohio to raise my family in the Cincinnati area. I like a living on the edge of the woods in a country atmosphere and love traveling downtown to see the art museum and galleries. My husband Richard is still working and loves to interact with young fellow engineers and solve problems.
