The Oasis Jungle Studio Apt was larger than we had expected for a studio - more like a 1 bedroom apt with a large balcony. It is a little on the dark side. The AC and the lovely pool were very much appreciated in afternoons. The pool is a great temp with lovely surroundings. The Jungle apt is just off the busy road so it is noisy - not as secluded as it might sound to be. Julio and Alex were very helpful with setting up tours and making good restaurant selections. We especially liked Emilio's and we loved Henry as a guide for Manuel Antonio Park. I had very little interaction with Sheryl.
This was slightly different than most of our Airbnb experiences as we had access to the hotel next door. Being able to book tours and use the hotel pool in the humid heat were nice bonuses. And with several restaurants in walking distance, we were able to keep our car parked during the entire stay.
The apartment does feel a bit like a treehouse in the rainforest. On one day we spotted some monkeys and toucans in the tree tops while we were enjoying the wonderful large private balcony.
This is far from the quietest place (the studio and Manuel Antonio in general) that you'll find in Costa Rica. As others have noted, you can hear some traffic on the road outside the studio, though it isn't too loud or distracting. We also heard loud fireworks on most nights. We were there for 4 nights including New Year's Eve, so I imagine it might be quieter and calmer during less busy times of the year.
If you are coming to Manuel Antonio, I do highly recommend this studio. It was a very nice experience overall.
We could not have been more happy with the space. Monkeys were absolutely everywhere, which was so much fun! The patio is an oasis unto itself.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the apartment was exceptionally clean. The shower was nice and large and there is also an outdoor shower to take care of all the sand so that you don't track it into the apartment.
We stayed 6 nights. It's true that there's quite a bit of road noise, but we got used to it and that's what you get in Manuel Antonio as most amenities are located on the busy street.
The front desk at Villa Nicholas were very helpful and took care of everyone one of out requests (Julio was wonderful). The pool was a huge bonus and the restaurant was nice. The grounds of the villa are immaculate. The apartment is located beside a bus stop that will have you at the beach and national park in under 5 mins, or Quepos in 10.
There are lots of restaurants around that serve wonderful seafood. If you are needing groceries, take the bus into Quepos to the Pali - you'll save a lot over going to Manuel Antonio's Super Joseph, which stocks North American goods at high prices.
Great value - Manuel Antonio is a must-see! We would love to stay in Sheryl's jungle studio again!
Amazing views and we had the pleasure of seeing many animals from the nice porch. I will say it was a bit noisy due to the close proximity to the road, but otherwise I would give this property a 9/10. Thanks for a great experience in Manuel Antonio!
The studio was spacious with an amazing patio and beautiful view! Can't beat it for the price point. We were very happy with our stay. Be aware your best bet is to take the public bus to the beach as there isn't really a sidewalk. The bus stop is conveniently located and it only costs ~$0.60
The only small issue we had is the other guests in the neighbouring studio weren't too good about keeping the padlock on the front gate locked. It's not ideal having to rely on others for your security. But the door to the actual studio still has a double lock.
This place was magnificent! We were warmly welcomed by Jullio and Cheryl. The studio is located in the best part of Manuel Antonio- close to great restaurants, a bank and supermarket, amazing views of the ocean and forest and about 5 min drive to the entrance of the national park. Although we had a car, we found taking the bus to the park was the best option.
Although unavoidable in this area, there is a bit of road noise, but we got used to it quickly. Perhaps bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
The studio itself felt like a glamorous house within the trees. We traveled there in October, and the ceiling fans and opened widows provided enough breeze to keep us cool. We never had to use the a/c.
The kitchen is well equipped for meals. We made a few breakfasts, but indulged in the variety of great restaurants for our other meals. I highly suggest: z-seafood, El Gato Pescador Fish and Chips and Emilio's cafe. Since we visited in low season, some of the other hot spots were closed for maintenance.
We enjoyed daily visits of the Capuchin monkeys. They are rather cute, curious and mischievous. We also saw other wildlife from the balcony - such as lizards, butterflies, and even Toucanets. Since the place is within the trees, naturally there are bugs, small spiders and ants, but were not bothersome.
Access to the pool was a lovely bonus. The grounds are well maintained and the staff are friendly.
The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed.
Our hosts helped arrange a couple tours for us. I highly recommend booking a guide for a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. Ask your hosts to book Andrey- he was professional, experienced and friendly.
We also did a zipline canopy tour. El Santuario Canopy Adventure Tour was excellent- safe, professional and fun.
The studio was a tranquil place for our stay in Manuel Antonio. Don't miss out on staying here!
