Mid-century beach cottage located in the family-friendly community of Davis Park, Fire Island, New York.

The house accommodates six and is nestled in the trees just steps from the Atlantic Ocean and Great South Bay. A stay here offers the quintessential beach vacation experience.

The space
Our home has been preserved in its near original condition for 3 generations. It has an elegant simplicity. The house does not have internet, a dishwasher, or washer/dryer. Because part of the real Fire Island experience involves shedding our day-to- day habits, we appreciate and enjoy the connection with a simpler time that this beach house gives us.

Where you’ll be

The location is in a quiet, family-friendly area of Davis Park. We have known our neighbors for many years. Because respect for the neighborhood is important to us, this is not the type of house or location that accommodates a loud "party house" atmosphere.

In addition, we are located on the west side of Davis Park where there is relatively more tree cover and shade than the other parts of the community.

We live in Western New Jersey where we run a small organic farm. When we are not outside enjoying nature, my wife is a designer and I am a science teacher.

Our beach cottage is a family treasure built by my grandparents in the 1950's- one of the first homes built in the area. The beautiful and warm wood interior make it a cozy home to come back to after a day at the beach or bay.

We have grown up spending summers on Fire Island and feel that it is a very special place. In all of our travels, we have yet to find a destination that offers the unique qualities of sun, sand, waves, and ocean breezes found here.
