About this listing

If you like to cook, hike, swim, visit farmers markets and be surrounded by animals, this is the place for you. Woodridge is a rural community located in the southern Catskill Mountains. It is the place to get away from it all.

The space

1953 Spartenette Trailer located on Keshini Fiber Farm and Outlier Recording Studio in the Catskill Mountains!

Sleeps 4. Two twin beds and one full bed. There is running, potable water in the kitchen and bathroom sink and shower. The toilet does not function but there is a nearby outhouse. Trailer guests are invited to use the nearby outdoor kitchen for their cooking needs.

We are located on a farm in beautiful Sullivan County, close to Bethel Woods, the Catskill Park, Neversink Unique Area and Sam's Point.

There are many animals on the farm. Merino sheep, angora goats, angora rabbits, oberhasli dairy goats, chickens (running free so please leash dogs!), one cat and a dog named Lali. We have a greenhouse and vegetable garden, a pond for doggies to go swimming, and a lake across the street.

There is a full-service recording studio on the premises as well as a fiber arts workshop space. The fiber from our Angora bunnies is shorn and hand-spun into winter accessories. In June, a vintage clothing store is opening on the property. Come and browse through Ambika Boutique's collection of vintage clothing, shoes, bags, and hats.

Guest access

Guests are encouraged to explore the 12 acre property, relax by the pond, cuddle the bunnies, sheep, and goats (please ask how to turn off the electric fence), and go for a hike on the 6 mile rails-to-trails path across the street.

There is access to a communal outdoor fire pit (wood is available for purchase), a 6 burner outdoor stove and grill, a hot double outdoor shower and an outhouse.

High-speed internet is provided free of charge.
It only works closer to the main houses, so you may have to sit outside to access it. Download those movies!

We recommend stopping for groceries on your way. (If you're driving from the city, the Fairway at 125th Street is an excellent stop!) Our own eggs and vegetables are available for purchase. Price per night does not include breakfast.

Interaction with guests

We will welcome you and give you a tour of the property upon your arrival.

If you will be arriving at a late hour, we will greet you in the morning!

If you have any questions about the property please ask.

Other things to note

If you want to relax in a rural environment and experience a food-based, makers community then this is the place for you.

The property has multiple dwellings and many shared spaces. We often host yoga retreats and have musicians recording in our full music studio. Please ask us if you would like to know what is happening during your stay.

No cats...sorry. Dogs must be on leash at all times, as we have free roaming animals. Dogs may not be left in your space while you are not present. The Neversink Unique Area is a great off-leash area for your pup to roam free.

We are extremely energy conscious and expect you to be as well. All doors and windows must be closed when the heat is running. Thermostats must be set at 60 degrees when you are out exploring and kept at 68 max when you are inside. If excessive energy is used we will use your deposit to pay for the additional costs.

Be mindful of turning off lights and computers.

No smoking indoors.

As we are a farm and things get dirty fast, we ask that you please leave your shoes at the door.

Here at the farm we compost and recycle everything that we can. We have a compost area in the garden.

ORGANIC only scraps can be fed to the sheep and goats. (please ask us to turn off the electric fence or feed through the blue gate.) They love banana peels, most all fruit peels, and any greens and herb stems. The egg shells can be crushed up and fed back to the chickens for calcium to produce more :) Absolutely no onion, avocado or pits.

Paper, plastic and metal must be recycled. Be mindful of the trash you create, if you have questions please ask.

Please do not pick anything (veggies, berries, flowers, etc.) unless we are with you. Our eggs, vegetables and fruits are available for purchase.

If anything gets stained or broken, please report it asap. Don't be shy. The earlier the better, as stains set in.

Please be careful of the electric fencing that surrounds the animal pasture!

Guests have access to the many shared spaces on the property. Please keep these areas clean and respect others that are enjoying them.

Joshua's place is very special indeed. A wonderful oasis of peace and creativity in Upstate New York. Use it as a launching pad to area activities or as we did - just stay on site and make the most of the peace and quiet.

Josh's property is beautiful and charming. We loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen, exploring the property, making fires at night. Great place to get away for a weekend. Would highly recommend!

Outliers Inn is a nature lover's paradise.! The property has a little bit for everyone! If you love camping the rustic way, you can do that! You can rent a tiny house if you like a small unique space! Or you can rent this fabulous trailer we rented and it was so so cozy and comfy and perfect! There are bigger rentals for a family with the comfort of a home. We loved the outdoor kitchen, bonfires and record players! Definitely want to return and explore more! Thank you Joshua!

Josh is amazing and clearly takes pride in this place, because it's awesome and totally lives up to the name Outlier Inn. It's truly special and unlike anyplace else. Sleeping in the beautiful old Spartan trailer nestled in the woods was cozy and super comfortable, and the retouching throughout the interior is awesome, especially the funky blue/green upholstery in the kitchen booth. Also there's a legit recording studio?! And a geodesic dome?! And goats and chickens with freshly laid eggs? Yes. We will be back soon.

Josh met us when we arrived and showed us around the property--it is lovely! The trailer was charming, clean, and comfortable. The bed was cozy and Josh provided plenty of blankets, so that we stayed warm even without the space heater that was available (we visited in October, just as the weather was getting chilly). The outdoor kitchen was well-stocked and the outdoor shower provided a very relaxing experience. We used the firepit and visited the animals and, while their were other guests on the property at the time, it didn't feel crowded. There is a nice path across the street from the property, where we let our dog run around off-leash. Great views of foliage in the fall. The grocery/general store is a short drive from the place and so are some other hikes. Josh will provide you with a detailed FAQ with more info. Even if you don't want to go anywhere, though, Josh's place is a great one for just hanging out. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend to a friend or even return ourselves!
