Revel in the simple, pure, and calm beauty of the Scandinavian and Native American décor inspired by the nature of the northern climate. Whether you are visiting our guest home to renting one or you have rented the entire guest home for a family or business retreat, relax in the harmony and bliss of the natural environment.

Guest access
After a long day of hiking, snowmobiling, golfing, shopping, visiting the casino or sightseeing around Houghton and Baraga Counties, relax and enjoy an afternoon indoors while having a sauna or Jacuzzi-hot tub experience. If you prefer the outdoors, relax in our outdoor swimming pool (summer only), breathe in the fresh Upper Peninsula air or simply relax on the deck, unwind and read a good novel or go kayaking while admiring our glorious views of the sunrise and sunsets of the Keweenaw Bay. In the winter get ready for some good old-fashioned Michigan fun with our favorite sledding hills and easy access to snowmobiling trails. Our retreat includes eight acres for you to stroll at your leisure. Experience a NIKKEN Wellness Home through the environment-the water we drink, the air we breathe, the light we see by, and how sleep the way nature intended with the Kenko Sleep System on each of the beds. The kitchen, laundry, and living area with a fireplace are available for guests to utilize.

During your stay
We provide a warm, friendly welcome at the front door. If guests feel up to it, we will give a quick tour of our home soon after their arrival. We try to be a "fountain of information" and answer questions about our area and mention nearby attractions and places of interest

Amenities in the summer include an indoor hot tub and sauna and an outdoor heated swimming pool shared among all guests and hosts, rustic walking trails, and a continental breakfast.

LaRose Wellness Retreat is north of Baraga on the shores of Keweenaw Bay.

I am the owner of the LaRose Wellness Retreat. I wanted to share the glorious view of the Keweenaw Bay with the local community and provide lodging with all the amenities you could ask for. I want to make my home yours, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are plenty of choices for relaxation whether it is simply to enjoy the fresh air, take a dip in the beautiful pool or rejuvenate your spirit with a sauna or hot tub experience.
