Little Owl is your Pacific Northwest cabin fantasy. 20 minutes from Mt. Rainier National Park, White Pass Ski Area, and some of the most breathtaking hiking on the West Coast. Amenities include a cedar soaking hot tub, WiFi, Weber gas grill, top notch cookware, hi-fi sound system, deck and balcony. We're just 2.5 scenic hrs from Seattle and Portland, and we're dog-friendly. Find us on Instagram @littleowlcabin, and click on our profile to check out our other three Rainier cabins.

The space
Our cabin is immediately adjacent to National Forest land, and just yards from Coal Creek. We're 5 miles from the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park.

There are two twin beds on a platform upstairs that can be pushed together to form a nearly seamless king, or separated for single sleepers. Downstairs, we have a bunked twin above a queen, and a comfortable day bed in the living room. You're also welcome to camp on the deck.

There's a half bathroom in the loft and a full bathroom downstairs.

Our kitchen is fully appointed: Appliances, pots, pans, utensils, coffeemakers (drip and french press), milk frother, kettle and burr grinder. We also have a gas grill on the deck.

In the winter, you're welcome to use our wood stove.

Guest access
Small children are not allowed in the upstairs loft or on the bunk bed.

Other things to note
We love hosting, and we want you to have the best possible experience here. To that end, it's critical that every adult in your party reads and acknowledges these house rules.

GENERAL HOUSE RULES
This is a place to relax, cook, do yoga, read, meditate, nap in the hammock, or just quietly hibernate inside the cabin. Don't even think of throwing a party here. If your plans include keg stands, beer pong, Jackass stunts, loud music, or any other Animal House fantasies, please keep looking. You'll get evicted, annoy our neighbors, and forfeit your deposit. We promise, it will suck for everyone.

Check-in time is 4:00. Check-out time is noon. We cannot accommodate requests for early check-ins or late check-outs, no matter the season or circumstances.

Flushing anything but pee, poop or toilet paper is the surest way to ruin your stay and forfeit your deposit. You'll back up the septic system, which could have really foul consequences. The minimum charge to clear a septic clog is $300.

The max occupancy at this property is 4 people. We cannot accept more than 4 people under any circumstances, and no more than 4 people are allowed at the property at any given time. Parties of 5+ will be evicted.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources often restricts outdoor fires in the summer to prevent wildfires. Burning during a ban is dangerous; the penalties are severe, and any violators will be reported and evicted without negotiation or compensation. We'll put a large magnet on the refrigerator when there's a burn ban in effect.

The land surrounding our cabin is home to a vast array of wildlife. Cougars, bears, bobcats and coyotes have been seen around here. Supervise your children and pets very closely.

Amplified music is not allowed anywhere on the deck or in the front yard.

The forest is as fragile as it is breathtaking. Be mindful of your footprint, and please do your part to respect and preserve this special place. Don't harm the trees, dump waste, litter, or burn anything outside of the fire ring. Bag your pet's poop every time.

Do not put anything but people and bathing suits in the hot tub. Soap, sand, candles, or just about anything but people will damage the equipment and result in a steep charge to your credit card on file.

As the registered guest, you're required to share this information with others in your party and take responsibility for any damage(s) they might incur during your stay.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Commercial filming or photography, including wedding photography, is forbidden without prior consent. Commercial photography is defined as any photography that may be used to promote a brand, service or product; or where the photographer is receiving money from a third party (including a registered guest) to take photos on our property. You'll need to contact us outside of Airbnb if you wish to use our cabin for a photo shoot. (Please know in advance that we take this policy very seriously, and that violation will result in immediate eviction without negotiation or compensation, and possible legal action.)

SECURITY CAMERAS AND NOISE MONITORS
We have a security camera mounted on the front side of the home, facing the driveway and street. You will be recorded as you come and go. We also use noise monitoring devices at this property. They do not record actual sounds or conversations; they simply monitor noise levels (measured in decibels), and notify us when those levels exceeds a maximum threshold. Disconnecting the camera or the noise monitors will result in eviction.

EVENTS
We cannot host events of any kind, of any duration, no matter the guest count. This includes weddings, elopements, and receptions. Please, do not send us a booking request for your event--we cannot and will not make any exceptions whatsoever.

PETS
Up to 2 dogs are allowed on the property. We do not charge pet fees. In accordance with local laws and community covenants, your dog must remain on leash at all times.

SMOKING (TOBACCO AND CANNABIS)
Our indoor smoking ban includes tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes. If we smell smoke or cannabis, you can expect a claim and charge to your credit card.

SUBLEASES AND TRANSFERS
Your booking is non-transferable, and no right to sublease is allowed or implied. The guest of record must be present at check-in and check-out.

WINTER DRIVING
We are accessible year-round from Seattle, Portland and points east. We're about 1,500 feet beneath the snow line for most of the winter. Snow isn't nearly as abundant or common here as you might think, but we will get blasted a couple of times a year. Our cabin is located on a county road that gets plowed when there's snow, but we still recommend AWD with good tire tread in the snowy months (generally January to March).

HOT TUB, LOFT LADDER and BUNK BED WAIVER
(The insurance company requires this. By booking with us, you agree to these terms and conditions.)

Only guests declared with this Airbnb booking may use the hot tub, loft ladder and bunk bed(s).

In consideration for the utilization of the hot tub, loft ladder and bunk bed(s), I understand and agree to the following:

1. I am responsible for checking water quality prior to use. Test strips are provided and can be used if necessary.

2. I understand that by using the hot tub, I am assuming financial responsibility for all usage, breakage, and/or abuse of the equipment. This could include any/all fees for extraordinary maintenance and/or repair incurred by owner in order to restore the hot tub, including heater and pump, after my stay.

3. I understand that the owner reserves the right to change or cancel the continued availability of the hot tub without prior notice for issues related to care, maintenance, and/or safety. No lease, license or bailment is created by my use of the hot tub.

4. Owner is not liable for any loss or damage to my property arising out of my usage of the hot tub, loft ladder or bunk bed(s).

5. I agree to refrain from using equipment that I determine to be defective or in need maintenance or repair. Should any equipment be in a state of disrepair, I will alert owner in lieu of using said equipment.

6. I understand that a risk of injury and/or illness is present when engaging in or utilizing a hot tub, loft ladder or bunk bed(s), and I assume all responsibilities and risk of participation in this activity. I understand that failure to follow listed policies may increase those risks and incur charges to my CC on file related to any breakage, abuse of equipment, and/or abuse and negligence of the policies given and signed upon check-in.

7. In consideration of the acceptance of my agreement, I intend to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators and do hereby release any and all sponsors of this facility and their representatives, successors and assigns from any and all liability arising from injuries, including illness and death, that I may suffer as a result of my usage of the hot tub, loft ladder or bunk bed(s).

8. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT, RELEASE & WAIVER LIABILITY, AND I KNOW ITS CONTENTS. I HAVE VOLUNTARILY ACCEPTED IT AS PART OF MY ACCEPTANCE OF THE HOUSE RULES AS MY OWN FREE ACT.

DISPUTES AND CLAIMS
By booking our cabin, you are entering into a contract with Little Owl Ventures, LLC, to provide lodging and associated support services during your stay. Any controversy, dispute or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or breach thereof, shall be addressed exclusively with Little Owl Ventures, LLC.

NEW AIRBNB GUESTS
If you're new to Airbnb or have fewer than two positive reviews, you'll have to send a request to book our cabin. Please make it easy for us to approve your request by introducing yourself, telling us who you're bringing along, and assuring us that you've read these house rules.

Our cabin has an off-the-grid feel, but with all the on-the-grid amenities. We're in a vacation home community, but we have plenty of privacy, and our deck and hot tub back up to National Forest land. Exceptional hiking, skiing and wineries are all within 15 mins to 1.5 hours by car.

Some of our guests express surprise or mild disappointment about our proximity to neighbors. We're not off-the-grid. We like our cabin for the fact that it offers the best features of grid and off-grid life: It's adjacent to forever wild National Forest, but near enough to the grid to have zippy broadband Internet, flush toilets, and adequate electric service to heat a hot tub, power a range, etc. That said, if you're looking for a truly remote, fully isolated cabin, this probably isn't your place.

My wife, Val, and I are New Yorkers who moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2013 to escape the grind and find joy in the simpler things. We bought and renovated our first cabin in 2015, then did it again in 2017...and then 2018. We're renovating our fourth cabin this year. We host as we appreciate being hosted: We give plenty of thought to the end-to-end guest experience so that your stay is easy, frustration-free, and fun, from the second you book until checkout. We're always here in case you need us, but if we're doing it right, you'll always have everything you need. All of our cabins feature premium amenities, including convection ovens, memory foam mattresses, Weber grills, Calphalon cookware, hot tubs, audiophile sound systems, and zippy WiFi. As travelers, some of our favorite destinations include Japan, Spain, Mexico City, and Palm Springs. We love meeting other hosts and discovering new ways to ply our trade

During your stay
We try to combine the best features of our personal hotel and Airbnb stays as we design our cabins and your guest experience.

For us, that means we're sitting silently on the sidelines until you need us. We'll make sure you have everything you need to locate our cabin and get comfortable with minimal fuss. You don't need to contact us about your arrival or departure times, and likewise, we won't be checking in with you unless it seems helpful or necessary. We assume you'd rather just get on with the business of relaxing and enjoying our home than swap messages with us.

If you're good with that arrangement, we'd love to host you!
