This apartment was recently (Dec.2023) renovated. This unit is located right on Kite Beach only 30 steps away from a beautiful tropical beach and the Kiteboarding action. It is a ground-floor Unit with a particular ocean view. The direct access from your balcony to the garden and beach makes this condo very convenient for kiteboarders and families with Kids.

The space
Cabarete averages 320 days of wind per year. Therefore it is a well known destination for kitesurfing. There are approximately 20 wind-sports schools to choose from in Cabarete Bay, Bozo Beach (the north western half of Cabarete Bay) and on Kite Beach. Cabarete Bay is mostly known for windsurfing, while Kite Beach are mostly known for kitesurfing. Kite Beach tends to be flatter and has a nice reef-break direct in in front of this Apartment. Bozo Beach is a much choppier but has a huge wide-open playground as the reef is further away. On both beaches the reef creates great waves for wave kitesurfing.

Playa Encuentro, about 6 km (4 miles) from the center of Cabarete, has about 300 days of waves per year, making it one of the most consistent surf spots in the Caribbean. There are 5 main surf breaks making the beach suitable for all levels of surfers. There are several qualified surf schools offering lessons and equipment rentals at Playa Encuentro.

Standup paddle boarding can be practiced on non-windy days. You can SUP on the flat waters inside the reef or SUP surf the waves on kitebeach reef. Cabarete Bay, Kite Beach, and Encuentro Beach all offer suitable conditions.

After living here permanently for more than 22 years, managing different Hotels in Cabarete and running the biggest Kiteboarding school for 16 years I know my way around here in Cabarete. I was a windsurfer for 20 years, did stunt windsurfing for German TV stations. In 1991 I was the first time in Cabarete for a windsurf vacation. In 1993 I had a 4 month break from a Film production and for sure I went to spent this Time in Cabarete. Being there for 2 month I got a fax from my production Team that the project is canceled and I decide t to stay a couple of months longer here in Cabarete. Well that's 22 years ago and I'm still here. Stefan Ruether, Stefan was the one to discover Kitebeach as ideal kiteboarding location and start the first Cabarete Kite Surfing School, in what was once the Bahia Linda beach, later to become the Famous KiteBeach. Kitexcite was founded in 1999 by Stefan Ruether as the first Kiteboarding School in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. In 16 years Kitexcite taught roughly 16 000 students between 11 and 78 years. Stefan invented a better, safer and more efficient way to teach kiteboarding. He created the Radio Helmet for kitesurfing as a remote teaching system for our Kitexcite kitesurfing students. It's a helmet with a water proof walki talkie attached to your ear.
