Camino Verde B&B is a "Bed and Breakfast" style lodging opened in 2009 and located on the edge of Santa Elena. The B&B is laid out in the style of a family house and guests are encouraged to treat it as their home. The building was in fact once the owner\'s family home which gave inspiration to this ¨Tica House¨ designed hotel.
The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Santa Elena, but is far enough away for it to be quiet and have more rural surroundings. This is the perfect option for those who crave the quiet side of the countryside but who require the amenities provided in a town.
Camino Verde B&B comprises private rooms which sleep 2 to 4 guests. Four of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities and the rest are en suite. For the rooms with private bathroom the prices are $33 for one person, $44 for a double, triple $55 and quadruple $66. Rooms with shared bathroom costs $23 for a single and $33 for a double. All prices include breakfast and tax.
Breakfast is free for all guests and is served from 6:30am until 8:30 am. There are three options for breakfast: the first is the typical Tico dish of eggs, rice and beans and toast; the second is fried or scrambled eggs with toast; the third is a fruit platter served with toast. Real coffee and orange juice is also available for every guest.
Check-out time is 11 am but guests are welcome to use the communal areas all day if they have a late bus to catch. Camino Verde also offers a luggage storage service.
The friendly staff on reception are also experienced tour agents so can give out impartial advice on all the local companies. Furthermore they can share their countrywide knowledge of Costa Rica and organize any ongoing travel. Upon arrival at the hotel they give all guests a map of Monteverde and mark out all the different tours and activities that various companies offer in the area. This way guests learn about what is available to them and can suss out how long they might like to stay for. If required they can create "pick and mix" packages of various activities to suit each individual.

Andres was awesome! He set up two tours for us, one night walk and one day hike. For our short stay in Monteverde, he helped us really get the most of it.
The B&B was very convenient to everything, very clean, and very hospitable. We'll be looking forward to coming back sometime again!
Andrés and Jose were incredible hosts! They answered all of my questions (there were many) and offered suggestions for planning the rest of my trip around Costa Rica. Both went above and beyond standard customer service and made Camino Verde a warm and friendly place. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a lovely stay at Camino Verde. Andrew and Jose were amazing host and always there to answer all our questions. They booked us great tours and made sure we were very comfortable throughout our 3 day stay. Our room had a great view and was clean and comfortable. The location of the B and B is great, close enough to walk into town, but far enough away for a quiet nights sleep. The home cooked breakfast and constant free coffee were both wonderful additions. We would highly recommend staying with Andres and Jose at Camino Verde. Thank you for a great stay!
Jose greeted me right away and offered fresh coffee & tea, which was welcome after a long day if traveling. The rooms were good and clean and the beds comfortable. I had to share a bathroom with several other guests but this was not a problem for me.
Jose also gave me a map of the area and suggested several local restaurants to dine at. He helped me book my tours for the next day and asisted me with booking a shuttle to my next destination. Breakfast prepared every day was delicious.
The surrounding area of Monteverde was beautiful. I would recommend staying here.
Camino Verde B&B was perfect for our needs! Monteverde is a beautiful place, and this was a great B&B with clean rooms and a delicious breakfast (with 3 or 4 different choices, including typical Costa Rican food). Jose was welcoming and told us what tours were the best in the area and helped us book them all, and they picked us up at the B&B.
Our experience was wonderful! Andres & Jose were both incredibly helpful and the space was very beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. I hurt my knee our first day in Monteverde and they were very kind, allowing us to have ice several times so that I could care for the injury.
Only need to say 'Andres' and anyone who has stayed at this lovely B and B will smile. The personal touch to make everything perfect for your stay is clearly the intention-- and achieved. Need a tour planned to meet special needs? Want to use the kitchen? Can't get enough brewed hot Costa Rican coffee throughout your stay? Need a hardy tipico breakfast before a long day of playing? This is your spot. You will feel most at home with Andres and Jose!
