Great location
90% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Martin house is a early 1900s farmhouse that has been adapted to a modern rural lifestyle; unfussy and romantic. Located 5 minutes from public boat launches at both Cedar and South Lake Leelanau, 10 minutes from the beaches of Traverse City or 30 minutes from Glen Arbor, home to alpine ski hills and the breathtaking symphony of water and sky that is the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.
Screened in porch, rustic barn, outdoor fireplace, large yard, and private access to the 17-mile Leelanau Trail.

The space
Located on a one-acre lot, Martin house features an early 1900s barn, outdoor space with a flower garden and family-style fire pit, detached private game room, open access to the TART bike trail, a new structure, new appliances, and classic style. The space comfortably sleeps 6 people, as there is one queen bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the guest bedroom and two twin beds in the open loft area (a daybed and trundle bed.) The master bedroom has a soaking tub and small sink while the main floor bathroom has a large shower. The kitchen has a large farmhouse style sink, gas cooktop, dishwasher, and refridgerator/freezer. Although only a fifteen minute drive from the shops, restaurants, and small-town theaters of downtown Traverse City, the home offers a private, tranquil space for you and your friends and family to stay. Whether the sun is glimmering on the shores of northern Michigan or the fresh-water waves have been caught in ice, Martin House's location offers prime access to the raved-about food, farms, beaches, slopes, and trails of Traverse City. Within five-mile radius, you can find a lavender farm, winery, vineyard, u-pick berries, cider and doughnuts, small-town grocery store, and ice-cream shop.

Where you’ll be

Traverse City, Michigan, United States

Martin House sits directly on the Leelanau Trail (Tart Trail) and minutes from Cedar Lake, DeYoung Natural Area, and South Lake Leelanau. Be sure to bring your bikes and helmets because you are a 4 mile bike ride from downtown Traverse City. If you decide to head North on the trail you will arrive in Suttons Bay in no time. A public boat launch is located within 2 miles both North and South of the house. Be sure to pick up fire wood at one of the roadside stands because we have a lovely outdoor fire pit ready for use.

Hello, I'm Marissa, and welcome to my Airbnb page. When I'm not off adventuring with my family, you can find me playing in the garden or searching for the sunniest spot in the house to curl up with a good book. I believe that travel is one of the most significant educational experiences in life, and feel very grateful for all the experiences I've had. Through the journey, we can learn and educate one another in a way that helps cultivate understanding and acceptance. In what feels like a former life, I was a preschool teacher. Usually, you can find me playing with my kids while completing multiple art projects and attempting to cook a meal that I've never made before. I started my business @Northern_Migration ( (Hidden by Airbnb) ) because I wanted to share with others the beauty of Northern Michigan so that they too can feel like a local. Please feel free to share your stay on (Hidden by Airbnb) with the hashtags #northernmigration #martinhousetc #wrenhouse #warblerhouse.
