Rustic yet contemporary, "Cabin in the Woods" in the iconic Poker Bar neighborhood is a 1920's remodeled Trinity Lumber Company cabin sure to provide guests with memorable stays. A great value, the cabin has everything--full service kitchen and bath, comfy beds, unlimited high speed Internet & Wi-Fi calling, streaming, close proximity to fishing, golfing, hiking, and ideally located near three lakes. In addition, the Trinity River is a short walk away on the same property. Great location!

The space
(PLEASE NOTE: The cabin has been disinfected according to Airbnb's COVID-19 cleaning guidelines.)
Located in a very safe and private area in Poker Bar and secluded in the woods, the cabin is a perfect place to get away to 'unplug' and enjoy the beauty and many recreation opportunities of the Trinity Alp's. The cabin nicely sleeps 4 guests; a couple on the brand new queen gel mattress, and two friends or family members on the double and twin. For additional guests in your group, there is a very comfortable queen sized self-inflatable mattress with bedding.
The cabin is heated and cooled with a mini-split heating/AC system. There is also a ceiling fan in the master bedroom and two floor fans which can be moved anywhere.
The master bedroom has a dresser, double closet with seasonal bedding, luggage stand, office desk & space, high-speed unlimited Internet, ceiling fan, mini-split AC/heater, lots of natural light and blackout curtains with views of the wooded areas. The Bedroom 2 space outside the master is a shared bedroom with a soft comfy double bed and a twin bed, a floor fan, a small cafe bar w/2 stools and a full size washer/dryer curtained off.
The living room has a 43" smart Roku TV with DISH television service, comfy couches, historic books, games, and information brochures about Trinity and general recreational areas. There are two outdoor patios--the front patio has a seating area, umbrella, and a propane Charbroiler grill. The back patio is a large stamped concrete patio with a fire pit and chairs, privacy fencing and wonderful views of forest areas in the distance.
Create gourmet dishes in the kitchen with the nice variety of spices, condiments, culinary knives, an assortments of teas and coffee, and all cooking essentials. There are convenient stores/gas stations locally as well as several restaurants and a full service market and CVS store in Weaverville.
For those wishing to hike, the Trinity Alps trail heads are a 30 minute drive or there is a trail to hike just off of Lance Gulch Road in Weaverville. See maps inside the cabin for information on hiking and backpacking trails or visit the Forestry Office in Weaverville. Hikes can be found right in the neighborhood too! A favorite hike is Canyon Creek in Junction City, given its beauty, waterfalls, and small lakes.
As far as fishing, there are first-class salmon and steelhead runs nearby. A few guides from Trinity Fly Shop on Lewiston Road live right in the neighborhood! Drift boat, kayak and raft access is available either on my riverfront (kayaks and rafts), within the neighborhood, or also about 1 mile at the Bucktail public access area. The River typically rises and falls starting late April/early May and throughout the summer months, going down to about 450 cfs towards the end of August. Lewiston Lake is about 10 miles away; Trinity Lake is a 35 minute drive. Blue ribbon rainbow trout 5lb+ pound trout and bass are common in this lake. Patio boats are available at Pine Cove Marina for rent. The Trinity River Hatchery is the largest salmon and steelhead hatchery in CA and is located at the end of Trinity Dam Boulevard.
For more information on river levels and fishing conditions, contact or visit on-line Trinity River Restoration or visit The Trinity Fly Shop in Lewiston.
The property and surrounding areas support an abundance of wildlife. Deer, fox, bobcats, rabbits, bald eagles, hawks, skunk, osprey, blue heron and other critters can be spotted often.
Lastly, I typically do not allow pets, but if you need to bring one pet please contact me first for approval. If allowed, there is a pet fee of $40.

Where you’ll be

Lewiston, California, United States

The Poker Bar neighborhood is a mix of full time residents, retirees or vacationers who visit their second homes. Some residents live on the river and some along the main roads and up in the hills. It's fun to bike/walk up and down Reo Lane, Bridge Road, and Poker Bar West and/or get wet in the river on my property, or swim at area lakes.

During your stay
I live on the river side of the property, am often home and give guests full privacy as well as interaction, when needed. Guests can use the riverfront seating area or visit the many nearby public recreation areas. The closest fishing/swimming access is at the Bucktail public access area on Lewiston Rd (1 or 2 miles away), Steel Bridge public access (3 miles) or Indian Creek public access (4 miles away), and Lewiston, Trinity and Whiskeytown Lakes. You can also find other areas up and down Hwy 299 which is BLM land. The cabin has copies of maps of wonderful hiking trails and other recreation pit stops throughout the County, along with public fishing holes and information on restaurants and places and things to do in the area. Check out local Facebook pages, VisitTrinity.com or the Trinity Chamber of Commerce for local events throughout the year.
